do over with a poll

I was just wondering about people's general dispositions.

I am the sort of person who believes in things/people pretty deeply but once they show me any hint of deception I cut them loose. But, it seems, not everyone is like this. Time and time again I notice otherwise reasonable adults unwilling to accept they have been deceived. So I'm thinking this sort of behavior is more of a generalized disposition issue than anything else.

Being honest, where do you fall on the spectrum?

Once I believe in something/someone I will follow it until the end no matter what. I won't accept/admit being wrong about something or someone.

Even when I believe in things I still think everything through on a constant basis and will change my mind when necessary but I always give my initial beliefs the benefit of the doubt.

I am hurt and angry when deceived and very unlikely to give a second chance.

I think deception is manipulative and purposeful and I never ever listen again.

Wow, where are you running into all this deception? I can't think of many circumstances in my life where I felt "deceived." OK, my ex-husband, yes - but that's a whole 'nother thread!:rotfl:

I guess day to day I am generally a very loyal, sunny disposition kind of person. I choose my friends pretty carefully so I'm not usually surprised by their behavior with me.

I guess it would depend on how bad I was deceived. I usually feel that everyone deserves a second chance. We are all human, and we all make mistakes. To cut someone out of my life forever because of a mistake seems kind of harsh. So I give them another chance. But, if they do it again then I would probably end the relationship.

I did this over with a poll.

It's not that I have been recently deceived, my question comes from observing people around me and what they do with the info once they learn about it.

Did you post a new thread?

Anyway your statements are too broad. I guess you don't work in the corporate world?:rotfl:
