Do orbs in pictures = ghostly activity?

Hi neighbor, I am about 15 miles south of Pittsburgh!! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

We don't have orbs here, but enough dust to keep me busy.;)

Yay!!!!! I have a neighbor!!!!:)

I am trying to upload pics of my dusty orbs.

It may take quite some time. I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer.:lmao:

Any other "Ghost Hunters" fans here? We just LOVE TAPS in our house and wouldn't miss an episode!

Last week there was a showdown between Grant, who totally does not believe in orbs as manifestations of hauntings and Brian, who absolutely swore he had the ultimate example of an "orb" that would finally convince Grant otherwise. Needless to say, it didn't work as Grant simply pronouced it BIG DUST! :rotfl2:

Huge fan! I wish we had some paranormal activity in our house so we could invite them here!

Sorry, OP--but I gotta go with the "dust" vote. :)

This house wouldn't be outside of Houston in a subdivision that was built on a cemetary (Poppet's Way?). If so, take a visit to Ghostvillage.com.....there's alot of chatter going on about that area recently......

It is funny how most say it is the light from the flash reflecting back into the lens. But they don't even know if the flash on the camera fired!

No orbs but here is my ghost pic. Completely unedited:
2nd floor, 2nd window from the left...

I don't see anything in the top pic; I definitely see the face in the bottom :scared:

Yikes. I'm scared now. That man looked scar-y!!!!

Nah, he looks like the gordon's fisherman. This hotel is listed in two ghost books. So far all accounts are that the Hostess, who owned the hotel in the 1800's, is happy that people are still enjoying the Inn. Often a candy dish can be heard being refilled.

Actually if you really look at the picture of that window, there are several faces in that reflection. The main face appears to be Native American and if you tilt your head slightly right and then look just to the left of the main face, you'll see the profile of what appears to be a bald Native American. There's also a smaller face that appears to be peering over the shoulder of the main face. It's really an interesting photo.

I have heard that most haunting are more associated to the land that a building sits on rather than the building itself. Which makes me wonder where this old hotel is??

.... I don't usually share this but I'm a psychic medium/animal communicator/energy worker and in my humble opinion, it is possible that they are pictures of energy concentrations....

but most won't hurt you.. they won't go all "Poltergiest" on you or anything.

**currently shirking from the possible backlash of this post**

No backlash here, in fact, do you mind if I PM you?

Yeah, it creeps me out too! But I think that it's just dust, but, you never know! There are many things that can't be explained, and you can't make a a positive conclusion on what they are with a gut-feeling!

P.S. - One hundred posts from 4,000! Woot! Hey Ma, I'm gonna be a DIS nerd!

This is the realtor's picture of the library/office. I don't know how to make it any bigger.

I had some pictures from the basement and the living room that had them as well. It looks like in this one that it is a reflection off of the light. In the others I have, they are not as bright as this one.

I'd bet my life on the fact that you didn't take pictures of ghosts.

Yeah, and if you loese that bet, die, and come back as an orb, can I take pictures with my Kodak??? :thumbsup2

Here are pictures of Beauvoir(jefferson Davis's home) after katrina.

Do you see anything??

How's about now?

Most "orbs" are simply dust particles. However, I have a few photos of a single orb. It is a series of pictures and a bright white orb over my DH's grandmother's head, then in the next shot it moved over my DS's head and the third shot, over DD's head. Since this was the only orb in the photos and they were shot within a 5 minute time period, I sent them to a ghost/paranormal research society here in New Jersey. After they analized the photos, they felt it was more likely that it was an energy concentration, but wouldn't say it DEFINITELY was. It could have been a single dust particle floating and being captured OR it could have been a deceased relative using our family's energy to form the orb.

I will not write the photos off as dust, but I'm not going to say that it's a ghost.

I have to re-upload the pics to photobucket so I can post them.

Loriann, that picture is creepy!:scared1: Did you take it with a Kodak?:rotfl:

I'm kidding.

I love that show! I saw the same episode where Brian was trying to explain the orbs were dust!

I don't know, but I'm inclined to lean towards spirit energy.

My mom passed away in October 2005. Since then, I have had dozens of pictures of me with orbs on or right above my shoulder. I hadn't even mentioned it to coworkers at my current job and two people looked at different pictures of me in different parts of the store on different days and asked me 'who's with you?' At my previous job, EVERY picture taken of me in that building had an orb around me-no one else. It's only happened since my mom passed away.

(I had my camera for 4 years before my mom passed, DH's for 2 years and we both have the same thing happen, nothing before and all the time now.)

It looks like a rather big head and one dimensional. Too big for the window in fact.
