It's possible that you think most players are adults because of either when you play or that you post here. ;) there are PLENTY of kids here, don't get me wrong, but the Dis by and large has an adult population. :)

Trust me, there are tons of kids! :)

Hey Milkabum! You were one of my first friends and I remember how shocked you were to find out that I was an adult. But alas, my dear friend, I am a 38 year old kid! ;) Starwarskid, on the other hand is 11 years old, but I won't let him post here.

I'm 13 years old. I agree most of people seem like adults, or at least on these message boards because you can't give your age on VMK.
I think it's kind of risible how there are so many adults. I seems like it's aimed more towards the lower ages...but oh well.
It's not like it takes the fun out of the game though; I still like talking to people no matter what age they are. ;)

Im the big bad teen i am. I love being a teen. Ya you better respect your authorities also!!!!!!! :)

The age of the players brings up a point.

There are many adults and many kids playing. There are several friends on my friends list who I enjoy chatting with each day and one in particular I know for a fact is a kid. They reference their "mummy" quite often. What I wonder, do I let this friend know that I am also a mummy? I have thought about it but not sure about it. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to impersonate a kid, it is just that I have never brought up the fact that I am a mummy as well and that I have kids that play the game. I normally don't bring up that kind of info unless I know that I am chatting with another parent and know they have kids. Do you think this player will be upset to learn that I am older?

Relating your age in VMK does pose a problem. I'm 31, and my common sense would tell me never to socialize with young children over the Internet. You don't know who is on the other end of the keyboard. Since kids are major players on VMK, I have to be extra careful with whom I communicate with there. Why, just last night, I friended a girl who just wanted to be friends. I don't know her age, or why she wants my attention, but I just have to hope that I'm not getting myself into trouble that would risk "going away forever". :(

I can always trust DIS members, and I'm glad that I have this forum to back up my instincts.

I never give out personal info,or post pictures of me.I'm cautious of what I do.

I'm 37 and I have a few younger friends in VMK, but most are adults. I think the kids get bored with us and our talk about work and stuff! But the ones who do hang with us (mostly teens) are fun and clever and I enjoy their company.

I'm also 37 and have "ancient" in my signature on VMK so that most kids will know- used to have something about Old Dudes Club- but apparently you can't say old any longer.

My youngest DD and youngest son both have characters- dd is almost 8 (just a few more weeks lol) and ds is almost 1 1/2 (no he doesn't play but he likes to watch especially when I'm nedding or anyone is in the danceparty lol he'll dance along with them and likes to sit on our laps as we play)

My other other two obsessions are Harry Potter which is a mix of ages- and at one time I was moderator on one major site and usually I'd hang out in the chat room to make sure the kids didn't reveal too much personal information. But I have some kids who I am "internet friends" with from that community that are my oldest's age (17 or so) I'm very cautious about what I write to them- but usually are giving them motherly advice that had they asked their own parents the same thing they would have heard it too but probably ignored lol- and the other obsession- Girl Scouts- I'm a leader- most of the online community there is adults only but I do get contacted by young girls all the time for information and advice- on things that my own 13yo dd would maybe not want to ask me first- lol- but these girls look at me as a safe adult to turn to

I've been surprised to find out ages of some of the kids- many are very mature and you really can't tell their true age by the game- I know on dd's we put too young to be a girlfriend or something like that because at one time she was having lots of boys friend her and asking her to be their girlfriend- now she doesn't get near as many of those...
