Do not want to waste 2 points....what are options?

FYI---I am NOT soliciting anyone to buy or purchase my points. (That would be against the terms of this forum I would think) I am simply asking for advice or options of somewhere I could go.

I have two points I do not need/want to bank because were not going to go in 2022. I hate to waste them.

What are my options?

I looked at the DIS rent/trade forum but looks like I would need a "rental plan" just to transfer 2 points and the cost of the rental plan would be silly for just these two points.
I did google searches but the sites I looked at seem to be for selling my entire DVC membership and not just a few points.

There's really nothing you can do with them unless you are willing to buy OTU points, transfer points into your account or borrow enough to reserve a night.

The R/T Board may be used without a fee if you are willing to transfer the points for free. I am assuming you do not meet the posting requirements to have the fee waived (I didn't check).

Personally, I'd either give them away or just "let it go".

Not me, I could never let two points go! I’d follow them around the Disneyland Matterhorn, and to the Norway maelstrom ride, and around perdition’s flames before I give them up.

Yeah I'm in the same boat with 1 point. I had 103 2021 points that I am unable to use...and they were borrowed into this year (pandemic issues). I rented out 102 of them....and for the price I am ok letting 1 point go....but it still nags at me lol. I can't transfer the 1 point....so really my only option is to find 1 night and pay for OTU points to cover the night....but that just seems stupid lol....Unless I knew someone that needed 1 night.

Curious question now.....OTU points can be up to 15 correct? So let's say hypothetical I did know someone looking to add 1 night (or just stay 1 night)....could I book a studio for 16 points using my 1 and 15 OTU and book it for someone else?

OTU Points: Up to 24 per UY at $19 pt. Expire at end of UY and can not be banked or transferred.

I like @CarolMN's plan. You are talking about $40 worth of points here, tops. Bank them if you can, because you at least put off the inevitable and plans can and do change. But...it's small change in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, you could buy up to 24 OTU points, as peabody58 says above, and book something. It doesn't matter who stays there - you, family or friend, or a renter.

Ah yes, but if you use borrowed points to supplement the 2, it isn't wasting them. You've already bought all the points you will ever get, so they're only wasted if you don't use them.

We are in the same situation. Changed a reservation while on our split stay trip to avoid a move and ended up with 4 points in holding. Unlikely to go again before our UY ends in Sept so probably will be going to waste which kind of bites.

It only "bites" if you let it.

I'd gladly pay 4 points to avoid a move. The only points we've ever "lost" in over 22 years of ownership were used to avoid a room change at BWV.. Those 5 points were well spent, IMO.

You could book 1 night somewhere and offer up to someone somehow (on here or FB or something). Not much available most likely though.

I lost 9 points last year. I wish there was a way to donate small amounts of points back to DVC who'd pool them, and donate them to a charitable organization. I couldn't back those 9-I was in a "use 'em or lose them" situation with a large number. I planned a last minute vacation, even taking a 1 BR for a solo, but I ended up 9 points short and just lost them. Wish I could have donated them.

That is a great idea, maybe a organization like make a wish

Bank and rent out a 1 night studio or get in a facebook dvc rental group and offer the transfer at super low price, some owner that hasn't used their transfer may surely want them especially if they were potentially going to grab some OTUP
