Do my credits start when I check in? Help!!

We will probably check in at around 4pm. Do our dining credits start at check in or the beginning of our first day? I may make an ADR for the first night we are there, but I may not if our dining credits are not able to be used. Forgive me if someone as already asked this or if it is a silly question, but I really don't know!

yes, your credits start when you check in. Even if your room isn't ready, you'll still get your room key on which your credits are placed in. So even if you check-in at 7am, you'll get your credits and can start using it right away.

conversly, your credits expire at 11:59pm of the day you check out. So if you check out at 11am, but your flight isn't until 8pm, you can still use your credits until it's time to really say goodbye to WDW.
