Do most schools have Presidents week off in February?

Our family used to travel to Disney every November, but with our kids getting older, this past year we nervously went during our April break. It was surprisingly not crowded at all. I think this was due to Easter being in March, and schools across the country varied their week off from early March through late April. This year we are thinking of February break, but not if everyone has the same week off!

We have President's Day off, that's it. I don't know of any schools around here that have a break between December and Spring Break.

I can only speak for MA and NH schools, and both states have that week off...

Schools in and around Albany NY have that week off.

The school I teach at in NJ has off that Friday and Monday. Maybe you'll see us if you go! I'm organizing a trip for my choral group to sing in Epcot for Disney's Magic Music Days Program. I did this in 2004 and it was awesome! My 'kids' sang in the Magic Kingdom. This time I'm going for Epcot!!!

When we went in 04, it was crowded, but mostly on Saturday. The week before that wasn't too bad.

In Southern CA, most kids get Presidents day and some ALSO get Lincolns birthday the Monday b4.

So at most kids would get two 3 day weekends back to back.

We are getting that week off this year for the first time. Our BOCES tells us that most of NYS gets that week off, and we are behind the times. I do know several NYS locations that don't get the week off, though. Personally, I'd rather have my "Spring Break" in the spring!

Schools around here (KY) have either a week off or a long weekend. Air fares have always been really cheap around this time, so I know of lots of families that go just for a long weekend. My cousin went over Pres. Day last year and was shocked by the crowds!!

North Texas reporting: Most schools get the "Monday holiday" off. A few don't even give that off anymore. A few private schools may have a February holiday, but the public schools don't.

I'm in NJ and my kids just have President's Day off, not the whole week.

I thought a lot of schools had off that week? That's why I booked for the week before President's Day....

Wow! My kids go to school in NW IL and we didn't even have Presidents DAY off this year!!

In our district in Salem NH, we have the week after that off (the week after Massachusetts schools do). We don't get President's Day off.

Different districts in Michigan do it differently. For our school, we get the Friday before President's Day and President's Day off -- so, a long weekend only.

Massachusetts schools definitely have that week off, but NH schools actually have the week after. I know this because my boyfriend's son lives in NH (we live in MA) and it always causes problems when we try to plan a vacation.

That is mainly in the northeast. Here in the chicago area we only have presidents day. we do get done earlier in June.

Here in Virginia we don't, the students just have President's Day off only.

NYC public schools are out that week. However, it isn't Spring Break, it's Mid-Winter Recess.

Our schools are closed for 7 days in April for Spring Break.

And...let me add that there are a few districts in North Texas that I can speak of that make the teachers work on that Monday holiday for staff development so that would be a lot of teacher families that can't go then...

Our's in the Michigan metro Detroit area have the whole week off. I don't know if all metro area schools do, but I know of at least a few that do.
