Do metal bracelets cover Magic Band signals?

Not like wearing another bracelet sounds fun, but a friend of mine hates all things big brother. He was wondering if the signals are stopped by metal, or if metal might accidently erase the MB contents which you would not want to happen.

Anyway, just remove it when you want it scanned.

I said they already know your in a park and have cameras everywhere so what's the big deal-but now its turned into just a question if it would work.

Anyone know, or much less care?

Get a physical card and ditch the MB... There is RFID on the card, but it is passive, not active like on the band.

Makes sense-course they like the MB idea, just want an off switch. :rotfl:

You don't have to wear the MB if you don't want to....I'm not worried about Big Brother, I just hate wearing things on my wrist. I just use my AP for entry to the park and FP+ entry at rides.

You need to find something that blocks RFID. Doubt there is anything premade as MB are very new but possibly you could just say, yes it does.... Wallets are around but haven't seen anything else really.

Nothing is stored on the MagicBands except for a unique id number. The MagicBand is tied to your MDE profile by use of the id number. All personal information is stored securely in one of Disney's databases.

You can't erase any data from the band because there is nothing stored on it. It is just and RFID chip that recalls your information from a server depending on what you are tapping it to.

Good call-did find a wallet for that purpose. :thumbsup2

Certainly looks less "metallic" than that bracelet anyway.

Soon a necklace will do the trick as well if preferred IMO.
