Do Men Love Disney Resorts, too?

Just curious...as I child I grew up obsessed with Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and wanted to look like Alice in Wonderland quite badly.

Staying overnight at Disney was the ultimate...and I actually never got to do it until I was an adult! So our resort trips are very thrilling to me, especially to stay at the deluxes since it's a far cry from what we could do in my childhood.

My question is:
Do men find Disney as cool even though they don't identify with the princesses? When I see all the posts about honeymoons in Disney, I just wonder if the dh do it for their dw or if this is just as exciting for the guys? I have no idea...I'm just curious.

Thanks for input!

Oh yes just recently being able to take our children to the world has made me appreciate disneyworld all that much more and I guess i'm just a big kid myself because I really enjoy the rides and shows

My DH(42) and DS (17) just love Disney, I sometime think they get more excited than my DD or myself. My DH loves it because it's fun and he relaxes, my DS because of the rides (of course). I think it's just the whole Disney magic thing. Once they get there, they're hooked!!

We just do it for the DWs. pirate:
Don't let it get out, but some of us love the resorts just as much. I had to talk DW into the WL for our Honeymoon. It was the closest thing to bringing back the memories of camping without actually having to camp at Fort Wilderness.
To answer one of your questions, there is no "cool factor" to WDW for myself and most men. It's all about feeling like a kid again, and giving the family wonderful memories that we wish we had. :earboy2:

People find it surprizing that DH is the REAL WDW fan (and the REAL PhD of the family too). He loves WDW. His family used to go and stay at Fort Wilderness for a few weeks each year, so he has good family memories growing up there.

He loves the resorts too, the attention to detail, the good service, the creativity and escape of it all. He also loves the cheerfullness and friendlyness of WDW. Infact he is rather like the comercial where the man goes from the best to the prince while at WDW. :goodvibes

People think it is all me, but really he is the pusher of it. Good thing or I would of never gotten him to agree to DVC. Now it has become our place (and DD loves it too.)

Real Men Love Disney too. pirate:

Some of us men absolutely love Disney. In my case, my wife puts up with my Disney habit. :)

I think that Disney is a lot of different things to a lot of different people. Some people do appreciate all the magic that Disney physically creates through their movies and theme park attractions. For others, it's seeing what those things do to their families. For me, it's taking all of these things that I love so dearly, and SHARING them with those I love.

But I also think that there are some men who love their wives so dearly that they would put up with an annual week at Disney. It's not their favorite, but it makes their wives happy.

We guys do have a sensitive side. We're just not good at showing it, and sometimes we don't like to show it. But it's still there.

Hi, My DH LOVES the GF!! We stayed there when it was first built and he considers it HIS hotel! In 1993 we bought into DVC (best thing we ever did!) But when we can get a good AP rate or Military rate we spend a few nites at the GF just to make him HAPPY! ;) The sacrificies I make for my DH!! ;) Joan

My DH and I take the kids a few times a year and when I asked him where he wanted to go on his special birthday weekend (without the kids), his first and only response was WDW! So even though we just got back from POP today, we well be going to POR in three weeks...kid free.

My DH and my DS love it. Actually my DS is way into it. He gets upset with his little girlfriends at school if he finds out they don't like Disney princesses.

yep! sometimes i think dh likes it more than me. he is the one who picks out where we stay usually.

I can honestly say that DH (SkipperBubba pirate: ) loves WDW every bit as much as I do, and that makes the trip (and planning for the trip) even more fun. He adores WL as much as the parks themselves. He must -- we upgraded our December trip to concierge just today, at his suggestion! :worship:
Wahoooo!
Oh, how I love that Disney Man o' Mine.
Cheers,

To quote my DH just this evening:

DH: Baby, I am really excited about this trip.
Me: Oh yeah? Me too!
DH: No, but do you know why I am excited?
Me: Of course...because it is disney!
DH: I'm not so excited about the parks...I am more excited about the onsite stay at the resort...Is this wrong of me??

How can you not resist the child-like expression that was on my DH's face! :love2:

OK! I'll admit it. I am a Disney Fanatic! I drive my DW crazy. We take two trips a year (my idea). Everytime I bring up our next trip she says "could we possibly go somewhere else." My response is "why go somewhere else when Disney has it all." Her response :sad2:
In the end, she let's me have my way. While we are at the World she admits she is glad to be there and admits to having a great time. :lovestruc I don't think she will ever admit that she likes WDW as much as me. :earboy2:

I am also addicted to these boards. She can't believe how much time I spend reading all this great information. She thinks I'm crazy! :rotfl2:
Doesn't WDW just bring us all together? :grouphug: Especially the ones we love! \ :love2:

My DH loves WDW at least as much as I do--in fact, we just celebrated his 50th birthday there in December!

He is a big cartoon and animation buff, so he knows more about the characters than I do (I'm not really into characters, and neither is he, but we enjoy the over-the-top theming in the Value resorts--it's very festive).

Are you kidding? For all of us guys with Peter Pan syndrome, Disney is our hometown! My boys are 17 and 18, and Disney has not worn thin -- in fact, the oldest is trying to figure out how work a summer down there. I've been all over the world, and though history, art, and natural ambience is wonderful, Disney (any Disney theme park) is my preferred vacation.

I love Disney! On the 1-10 scale, I'm a 9.5 & DW is an 8. I definitely am the leader in our Disney addiction.

DH and I are really made for each other. We BOTH love Disney so much. We sure wish we were able to to visit Disney World at least twice each year. We love to take our kids (now grown) and now our grandkids. It is the best times of both of our lives. I am so lucky to have a dh with a love for Disney equal to mine. Our grown twin DS's love Disney too....even more than our two DD's. Now our oldest grandson is a HUGH Disney fan too. we plan to keep the love growing for each other and Disney! :lovestruc
