I think she has an ED....probably a combination of restrictive anorexia and exercise compulsion. The comment about how she makes cakes for her kids but won't eat even a bite is very telling....this is CLASSIC restrictive anorexia. Even the most compulsive dieter in the world (if mentally healthy) knows that an occasional sweet treat is ok. The fact that she thinks it is not is interesting.
If I am right, I feel very sad for her, her husband and her children (eating disorders have a heavy genetic component, and thus her children are no doubt at increased risk for similar mental illness). Adult sufferers can virtually never be cured, but rather (at best) can learn to manage their disease to have some quality of life. Considering her obsession with exercise and food (talking about it, but not eating it), I'm guessing hers is not well managed.
It is a horrid disease that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. And, BTW, is a giant MYTH that talking about body shape or media reports can "make" someone anorexic. You can't MAKE anyone anorexic. I couldn't become anorexic even if I tried and tried. Anorexia is a brain disorder. You have it or you don't. No one "makes" anyone anorexic.
