nope they dont...the safes are very small, they can fit jewlery/airline tickets/park tickets/ credit cards/ money...small items and not very many of them either! When we took/take our laptop we just kept it hidden in our room...there maybe something the front desk can do for you..I never looked into it.......

I would not really worry about it. Just keep it out of sight from the outside.

Every electronic key is coded differently, and the Resort's computer keeps track of which particular key was used to enter a room at a specific time. The Housekeep keys, also are limited to specific rooms. So if something is missing from your room they can see exactly who entered your room and at what time.

And if a housekeeper gets caught taking something, or things consistently turn up missing from her rooms, she will (a) be suddenly out of a job, and (b) probably having a long talk with the Sheriff's Office.

i haven't checked this out at WDW resorts, but when we went to vegas, this is what i did.

There was a metal grill on the wall for the HVAC unit. I was able to easily remove the grill with a coin to turn the fasteners. inside was a nice large void. i put my laptop in it, put the grill back on. I was pretty comfortable with that solution.

We put ours in our suitcase and closed the zipper pull with a plastic zip tie. It wouldn't stop in from being stolen but we thought it would be a deterrent. We just cut it off when we got back to the room in the evening and put a new one on the next morning when we left.

My dell net book (10 inch screen) fit inside the safe at AKL with a lot of room to spare. I think it depends on how big your laptop is and maybe even the resort you're at. If I remember correctly, the safes at CBR were micro, and I don't think they will hold much more than a cell phone and a wallet (that has been some time ago though so my memory could be foggy).

As someone who logs about 10,000 miles per month for work and who spends about 3 weeks per month in hotel rooms - I'll reiterate the suggestions of some of our previous posters here.

Every morning, I take anything which I consider "high ticket" items (electronics, mostly) and put it in my suitcase. Then I zip the thing closed and lock it. I know that the likelihood that any of my items will be taken is small. I also know that it takes extra time to move these items back and forth and it's a pain in the keister. But...the price of a lock (less than $5) provides peace of mind.

Hotel safes can be opened by you AND hotel staff by necessity. Your locked suitcase can only be opened by you. I much prefer having total control over my items. Most of the time, vacationers already have a lock on their baggage, so you won't have to spend extra on cable locks, additional safes or anything like that.

This is what I was going to say. Then just leave it in plain sight. You really do not have to worry too much about the WDW staff. They are paid pretty well and there is a high demand for the job. They do not want to do anything that stupid and risk losing their job. What you have to worry about is one of them getting scammed by a thief. If a thief notices something of value sitting out and the door is cracked by the housekeeper, they just pop in and say, "Oops, forgot my laptop/camera/etc." They are supposed to be trained to verify that the person belongs in that room, but that does not always work, especially if there is a language barrier. If you have a Kensington lock on you laptop, they cannot go anywhere with it.

I use a Belkin version with a padlock instead of the code version. Then I leave the key to it in the safe. The one I bought was a thicker cable for the price compared to the Kensington brand.

One word of caution though. Do not leave your laptop logged in (and use a password!). Data theft would be extremely easy for staff to pull off. You would also have a really hard time tracking any identity theft to a hotel worker, so they are not taking much risk.

I would also cable the bag to something immovable though. While not likely, someone could walk away with the entire bag and a treasure trove.

Ours did not fit in the safe at Pop. What we did was put it in the laptop carrying case and put a small TSA lock on the case, then put the case inside the rolling suitcase and cablelocked the suitcase to the closet rod in the bathroom. We also had a small TSA suitcase lock on the actual suitcase as well.

Overkill, maybe, but that laptop is my laptop for college. I.E., it's my lifeline. If something happened, my life would be ruined.

Disney is addressing this now during room rehabs. I don't know when they started putting in safes big enough for laptops but I saw them note this early this year as something they are doing.

I generally keep mine in a drawer, hidden under my dirty underwear. Anybody who wants to brave that for a laptop is welcome to it.

That said, I don't bring mine to Disney; that way I'm not tempted to pay the charges just to have WiFi.
