Hey all. First time to US. Do kids wear costumes like at WDW? My ds has been both Harry Potter and Men in Black for Halloween. Wondering if we should bring the costumes (finding this kinda funny since it's always been about dd in the princess costume).

There are lots of people in Harry Potter outfits. I've also seen a few little superheroes running around.

You might want to throw $100 in your budget for each HP-crazy kid for a robe. DS is wearing his right now. With his wand. (we're about to read HP and he must be prepared!)

In 2011 we went to the WDW halloween party, and his cousin went as Harry Potter in a $20 costume store nylon robe, and was SO hot. This robe is so much nicer than those. It's still hot, but not nylon-hot. (side note, DS went as a MIB agent. so we had Harry and MIB at WDW. heh.)

And if you don't have a Neurolyzer yet, they sell those (and the "noisy cricket" blaster) at the MIB giftshop. They really make the MIB costume. :thumbsup2

(we buy so many souvenirs at UO....)

My kids were in full HP robes, ties, etc. They received a lot of comments about "hurry you'll be late to class" or "are you a first year?" They loved it. There were quite a few people of all ages with a house scarf, shirt or sweater - there weren't too many in full robes but definitely some.

Everyone does the HP outfits or Marvel superheroes for Islands. I've seen some Suess inspired outfits too (more than thing shirts which of course are also popular) like a little boy dressed as the cat in the hat. It's not EVERY kid but enough of them do it that it wouldn't be weird.
For studios, I think MIB would be great! I've never seen anyone do that but I have seen a million and one minion outfits (yellow shirts with overalls - easy and cute) and princesses and knights meeting Shrek and Fiona.

I'm 28 and would love to wear my robes to the park! Go ahead and let him dress up! As everyone else mentioned, I've seen kids dressed in HP gear or superhero outfits.

MIB could be a lot of fun since there are 2 MIB dressed characters who roam around and they would love to interact with a MIB dressed kid.

Cool, thanks! He will definitely want the neurolyzer! I had to 'fashion' one for him for Halloween using a blinking colored glow flashlight and aluminum foil. LOL We, too, have the 'nylon' robe (with the official Gryffindor scarf, though, that we bought at FAO Schwartz). Our trip is mid-February so it probably won't be too hot for the costumes but we'll see. I would love love love a pic of him with MIB characters.

We went a couple of years ago and did the early entry. There were PLENTY of adults running to WWoHP in full garb!

We actually didn't see any adults wearing robes - maybe they were hiding. My mom is slightly concerned (with valid reasons) that if I wear my robes and enter the Hogwarts building, I'm never leaving lol

I probably will bring them and wear them, if one for the pictures in front of the castle :goodvibes
