I have to decide between the following resorts for the first 5 days of our holiday at Easter (moving to a Villa after that). It will be our first stay onsite and I am so excited!

I think my kids would love the ASMO or POP but I think the Poly sounds amazing (although much more expnsv of course), do kids like the Poly and does it have that wow factor??

Nicola

ps We are also booked at AKL for the last few days of our holiday to chill out and enjoy the hotel.

Our 3 DDs will be 3,6 and 9

I stayed at the Poly with my niece and nephew who were 10 and 12 at the time, and they absolutely loved it! The loved the pool, and walking around the beach. Had a blast sitting in the hammocks. It's a great resort.

My kids love it at the Poly! They would live there if they could. Watching the fireworks at night from the pool or from the beach is awesome, and there is just no beating the transportation options available. It is a very laid back, and relaxing resort and very fun!

My kids absolutely love the POLY! They love being on the monorail line and feeling as though it is "their" transportation for the week, they loved the swimming pools but believe it or not although they like the volcano pool they like the other pool better because it is almost never crowded and they almost have it to themselves. The arcade at the POLY is great. The arcade at the CR is better but all we had to do was hop on the monorail and they could use the arcade over at the CR in the evenings! And one of the greatest things is being able to watch the water parade and WISHES from the beach!!!!

My kids loved the Poly...my son especially loved the volcano pool, digging and playing volleyball on the beach and the arcade! He also had alot of fun when we rented from the marina. As a mom who was never big on having soda in the house, he especially loved walking to Captain Cooks for those soda refills in his mug! :)

The Poly is my 6 y/o DD's favorite resort. We have been staying there the last 3 years. She always tells me that if we dont' stay at the Poly then we aren't going to WDW! LOL!

Oh, yeah...I forgot about the marina and the little boats. My kids loved those!

This is great news to me too. I will be bringing my little one for the first time in January. I only wish they would have put in a hot tub when they redid the pool!

There is no comparsion between the value resorts vs. POLY. POLY is unique and amazing. Picture yourself sitting on a hammock swing. Your small 3 kids in front of you playing in the sand and building sand castles. The night is warm and slight breezy. Perfect weather.

In the distance, you can clearly see the Magic Kingdom castle change colors every few minutes from pink, blue, green and etc. Then you hear the music start for the electric water pageant. Out comes the cute lit up animals moving in the water. Right in front of the POLY beach! Your kids are jumping up and down in excitement, seeing the colorful and musical animals. Now, this is VACATION!

Just watch out for those pesky mosquito/sand fleas ;-} (I was eaten alive while lying on a beach chair watching the kids play in the sand).

My kids are older now, but they have always loved the Poly. It is one of our favorite resorts. The pool is awesome and the kids love the watermice that you can rent (keep in mind that they cannot drive them alone until they are 16 abd have a driver's license). IMHO there is no comparison between the Poly and the values or mods. I love that the MK is just a monorail ride away!

Good Luck in your decision, really ALL the resorts are wonderful and you will have a great time wherever you stay!!!

Poly definitely has the "WOW" factor! The pool is awesome!! We enjoyed sliding down the pool! I think I went more than my children... it's that awesome! And the children loves to play in the sand. And it is so nice because the pool is right next to the beach, so if they want to wet the sand, they easily can. They have an awesome kid's club. The monorail and the boat to MK cannot be beat! It's the best!! And most of all... Ohana and Kona Cafe are there. Great food, great service and great atmosphere... it's super great! I LOVE POLYNESIAN!!

Oh... let's not forget..."Wishes!" You can watch it from the beach or from the pool or from Ohana and of course if you have the LV, you will definitely see if from your balcony! And... you can also watch EWP!! It's more.. but you get more!! And it's worth it!

We just got back from the Poly on Monday and it is my kids new favorite resort! Besides the Volcano pool and arcade, they have a lot of kids activities like lei - making, hula dancing, etc. We didn't get to do any of these but hope to next time! :flower:

My children also LOVED the Poly.. We were there (their first time at the Poly) from Aug 12-17....We also rented the little water mice...and they told us the child could drive (as long as a parent was with them) when they were 12...So, I guess it is 16 with their own license or 12 with a parent..but any age can go with a parent...They give everyone life jackets...they were a BLAST....My kids also really liked the volcano pool, but also really the the quiet pool because there was hardly anyone ever there and it is much deeper, so they could actually "swim" and dive.....very fun

My 3 year old son LOVED the Polynesian! We stayed there in July 2005 and now every time he talks about WDW, he says he has to get on the monorail to go to the MK. (This is daily conversation in our house!) He loved the sprinklers by the pool area and playing on the beach. He even got to chill out in a hammock - it was so cute!

It's definitely one of our favorites - the other is WL. But you will NOT be disappointed in the Polynesian. Go and have a great time!

Aloha!!!!!!!

Think of the things in favor of the Poly from a kid's point of view:

1. Cinderella's Castle is constantly in view - keeping the magic alive

2. Volcano Pool - fun slide, waterfall into the pool, what's not to like?

3. Neverland club - great kid's activities

4. Monorail Resort - how cool is THAT?

5. Lagoon Electric Parade - how cool is THAT?

6. Everyone gets a lei when they check in

When we first stayed at the Poly my 2 girls were 6 & 9 and love it.
So much that every year since we have to stay at last 75% of our vacation at the Poly. They also enjoyed the Netherland Club. Last month my younger DD now 12 said she was going to pretend to be 7 years old so she can go!

We are thinking about the Polynesian (if we can afford it!), when you all mention the Neverland Club, do they have kid's activities during the day, or do your kids enjoy being dropped off there for babysitting? When we stayed at WL, they had arts and crafts in the Cub's Den, but I was not impressed. I was just wondering what type of kid's activities they had at the Poly for kids? Thanks for any help!

We stayed at the Poly last year. We are already talking about our trip for next summer. We asked our kids (5 and 6) where they wanted to stay, fully expecting they would pick the AKL with its bunkbeds and savanah views. My DD said the Castle, which we explained was not really an option. My DS immediately said the Poly. He loved the beach and the pool slide.

Thanks everyone, you have definitely convinced me. Now all I have to do is save up and hope for an AP discount nearer the time!

Well, I've never done either but yes they do have free activities for the kids in the afternoons (a parent stays with the kids). Also there is a torch lighting ceremony Wed to Sat at 6PM. There is Hula Dancing Sat at 10am and some days they have pool games at 3pm other days the arcade is free at 3pm. So lots of stuff for kids to do. I really hope to try some of those activities on our next trip.

My DD was 3 1/2 on our first visit to the Poly. When she got home and friends asked what her favorite part of the trip was she'd say the night. The Poly is just so magical at night with the castle all lit up, and the tiki torches and the music and the fireworks and the Electric Water Parade that even a 3 1/2 year old LOVES the Poly. I just got home from a 3 night stay at ASMo with my DS and we had a great trip but I can't wait to get back to the Poly in Oct. I'm taking DD 2 nights early and she said she wanted to stay at ASMo those 2 nights until I told her that ASMo doesn't have a beach, or zero entry pool, and you can't see the fireworks or castle or the real deal breaker for her the EWP. I'd save a lot of money those 1st 2 nights at ASMo but I'm not a fan of split stays-I want to unpack and settle in right away. And once the rest of my crew arrives we'd need 2 rooms at ASMo so the savings aren't as dramatic.

I think you and your 3 girls will LOVE the Poly and its great location. Have you considered concierge? We love the convenience with our 3 small kids.
