Do Kidcots open when WS opens?

For some reason, I remember having to wait around for these to open, but I can't remember if I was early or if they opened later than the World Showcase.
When do Kidcots begin?

If I remember correctly, the Kidcot stations open at 1:00 pm.

What is Kidcot?

The Kidcot stations are for kids and are set up at each of the countries in World Showcase. At the first stop they will choose a plain white mask on a stick. They can color it and will be given something by the cast member to add to it. They will also receive a stamp with the country's name on the stick. At each country something else will be added to the mask and another stamp added. My daughter has made 2 and can't wait to make another one on our trip next year. It is really something fun for the kids to do in WS. We take an entire afternoon and work our way from Mexico to Canada.

My kids also love the kidcot stops. The last time we were there the masks had a star attached to them. You poke out the middle of the star, make a "dream", and throw it in the dreamcatcher nets that the characters carry at the beginning of the parade. It was a terrific way to get the kids to interact with the parade characters.

Unfortunately, my 5 year old DD "dreamed" that she was going to get all the princess Barbies. She was absolutely convinced the princess Barbies would all be waiting for her in her room when we got home. It took me 3 days to work up the courage to shatter her Disney dream. But she got to buy a Barbie as a souvenier and was very happy with it, so it worked out fine in the end.

In Norway and Mexico, the Kidcot stations were open shortly after WS opened. This was just a few weeks ago.

BTW, kids really seem to love making those masks!

Make sure you leave enough time to get to all of the stations you would like to get to. This could easily take up an entire afternoon. Our family loves to do this. One adult sits and suprevises the kids, while the other adults roam around the shops and such. It's a win-win for everyone!! Make sure if your unsure where the station is located, ask a cast member and they will gladly direct anyone to them. This trip will be our 4th for making masks. They make great wall hangings in our disney room.
