My family and I will be at WDW 12/19 - 12/25. We are staying at the Contemporary. Do you all have any ideas about how to decorate the room for Christmas? I was thinking window clings and decorating the door, in some fashion or another.

Any ideas?

Marie

Take some Christmas pillow covers to sleep on...they'll look decorative on the bed. If you don't already have plans for a tree, pick up a small one and decorate it like you would your tree at home. (I use to have one for my college dorm room that I put miniature Hallmark ornaments on -- a mini version of the one that I would be going home to!) Make or buy a Disney-themed countdown calendar to count the last few days until Christmas....or maybe DON'T do this as it will also be the countdown to the end of your vacation!

Have a merry, Disney Christmas!

Tinsel garland packs flat and carries no weight, either.

White or colored lights strung anywhere, or draped in festive lengths across the top of the TV set. Makes for great nightlights for the kids, too.

Curling ribbon in red and green or white and gold, gathered in lengths and laid out along the tops of counters and dresser and even interspersed among the white lights.

Wide ribbon tied around the pillows on the daybed, a la 'packages'. Can do the same for the mirror.

If you have a festive holiday t-shirt or sweatshirt, slide it over the back of the chair and tuck in the arms, until you need it.

And my 'can't do without,' a small Christmas tree. :D

I just bought the cutest Christmas tree with Pooh and friends! It's 2 ft. tall and has a Winnie the Pooh topper and 6 ornaments with Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, Kanga & Roo, Rabbit, & Pooh. I found it at Lowe's. They have a Princess tree, too. We are taking it with us on our Christmas trip.

OMG, is your name Brie? :earboy2: Maggie

I just bought a small table top tree at our local Michaels craft store for $3.99. For the price I figured that if I needed to I could leave it behind for mousekeeping if I don't have room to bring it home. I bought some snowman and red christmas ribbon and a small string of lights to decorate it with and a piece of christmas fabric to wrap around the bottom. I am also bringing a string of lights to put in the room and window clings. We also have a birthday to celebrate while we are there and will make it a pirate theme. Can't wait.

We do the little tree and lights in the windows. We are going to do blue icicle lights this year on the porch of our cabin at FW. And I hang a couple of cross stich things up too.

Last year I saw a few balconies at the contemporary decorated with lights.

We are going to WDW for Christmas this year from the UK and this has been one of the issues we have yet to resolve. Do you think they'd have a small tree available in Walmart for a few dollars? We don't want to spend too much as we'll probably have to leave it there when we fly home.

I have seen the really small, table top trees at our local Wallmart for just a few dollars. I figure that we can put a small tree in our luggage because we try to pack light going down for the souvineers we bring home. There is always more room flying down than coming back and the tree we got will easily fit on a the table in the room. It might be nice to leave it behind for mousekeeping.
