Do I need Wii Motion Plus?

I bought a Wii for the kids for Christmas...the whole Wii world makes me feel old. I have no idea about any of it! I've learned what I needed largely by reading online and asking my younger brother. So, I thought I was done. Got the Wii, extra Wii Remotes, extra nunchuks, several games -- including Wii Sports Resort. Now, I know that comes with Wii Motion Plus, but is it necessary to play the game? :confused3

I didn't buy two extra of those because I didn't think I needed them. If I do need them for all three kids to play together, then I need to order some quick! :headache:

Thanks in advance!

I believe you DO need it to play the Sports Resort. Just not the other games. HTH

The pp is right...in order to play Wii Sports Resort you will have to have one for each player.

PP is correct - you definitely need Wii Motion Plus for anyone who wants to play Sports Resort. The remotes won't work for that game without it.

Personally, I'd return Wii sports resort and swap it for another game before I went to the expense of those motion plus things. 99% of the games don't require that extra gadget.

You do need the Wii Motion Plus for Wii Resorts but to my family it was worth it because we love this game. We spend more time playing this game and Need for Speed than any other game.

Many of the new sports games slated for release will need them, as well as several on the market now. IMHO it is worth spending the $20 for an extra.

Wii Sports Resort should include one motion plus adapter in the box. You would only need one more if you have two players, so $20 (or less if you look around), not an extra $40. There is a special version of Sports Resort that includes 2 MP adapters in the box for $59.99 instead of the normal $49.99, so you get two for $10 instead of 2 for $40 if you bought them seperately - great deal if you can find one in stock - might only be able to get them online.

My kids are getting a Wii for Christmas too and I am not finding good deals on the basic accessories! GRRR.

I am looking at Costco.com and thinking of ordering from them as they have the black remotes with the motion sensor for $48.

Where can you find the 2 MP for $60? Amazon has it listed for $90.

Op here...Thanks for the replies! I guess I'm buying some Wii Motion Plus gadgets! I'm glad I asked!

Another question - are you able to play anything in Wii Sports Resort with more than 2 players? (I have three kids, just wondering if I should get 1 more or 2 more.)

Thanks again!

I agree.

In fact I think the sports games are the best to play on the Wii. And Sports Resorts is the best one, in my opinion.

Very addicting and super fun!

You can play up to 4

FYI - I was at Costco (in-store) yesterday and picked up a set containing one controller, one nunchuk, and one motion plus for $59.99. Basically you are paying full price for the controller and getting the other two items for half-price.

REALLY? Was this the black one or a white one?

Oh, wait.....I see I can get the black one online with a motion plus for $48.....then if I purchase the nunchuck for $18 from Amazon, that would actually be a little cheaper......

am I figuring this right???

Thanks,

No, that would make it $66 as opposed to the 59.99 from costco.

The set was the black ones.

Someone posted earlier saying they got the set for 49.99, but I am wondering if it was either BF sale pricing or maybe they were mistaken.
Or perhaps different areas have different pricing.

DUH! That is what I get for trying to do math while dealing with kids at the same time!

HA!

I need to get to Costco. No idea when.....DH's work schedule is nuts right now so I am always with the kids.

Maybe Sunday afternoon.

Late last night I was on Sams site and found the Wii Sports Resort game bundled with (2) MotionPlus rather than the (1) like most places.

I picked it up for $54.48. Final cost was $62.68 after tax and shipping.

The box with one MotionPlus sells in the store for $50, and even online it is $45.

I must have gotten one of the last ones because after I paid, it was no longer available.

DH was glad I found it when I did.

Wow, this Wii stuff sure adds up to get enough for the family to play together!

Thank goodness for these deals!! :thumbsup2
