Do I need to pack bug spray?

Tried to do a search, but the only thing I could find were threads about BED BUGS!

I'm thinking about OTHER kinds of bugs that we might encounter on the islands... We're taking our first cruise next month on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. Should be pack bug spray for use on Castaway Cay or any of the other islands?

If you have the space for it, I'd bring a small can/bottle just in case. We were on Castaway Cay Tuesday when a small storm blew through. When it started to get dark, it got buggy! We were eaten alive. When the sun came out, they went away.

We were in the Cabanas, closer to the "jungle". As we moved closer to the water, the bugs went away.

Try putting the words you are looking for in quotes, "bug spray". This works for me whenever I do a search.

Yes, by all means bring bug spray. The mosquitos in Florida and points south can carry some nasty diseases!

If there's the slightest chance of sand fleas, I'd pack that bug spray! If you end up being allergic to the bites (like me), you'll find that the bites not only itch like the dickens, but are quite unattractive...
