I have booked the Fantasmic Dinner Pkg in October but I had to try 3 different days before there was an opening. And then we got 4:10 pm. How hard do you think it would be to get a seat without it? And my gosh, what happens if it is cancelled due to weather? :confused3 We have booked Mama Melrose's. Any suggestions for an entree? pixiedust:

IMO in october you dont need it, I was there in both oct and nov last year and as long as you arent entering at the last minute getting a decent seat/view should not be hard. Consider it like a parade and get there 45min-1 hour before hand. If you want a seat way up front a little earlier.

We've never had trouble getting a good seat by getting there 30-40 minutes early. I don't think it is worth the dinner package unless you want to come in at the last minute.

We never bother with the Fantasmic Package and we have always gotten great seats- even in the dead of summer. Unless you are planning on eating at one of those restaurants anyway, I wouldn't bother. IMO, there are much better restaurants elsewhere, and the "reserved" seats aren't that great either.

I don't think you need the package either. I really don't think it saves you much time and the seats are not prime either. I would just arrive half an hour before the show and relax and wait for the show to start.

The only time we went to the Fantasmic show, we were almost trampled to death. When they opened the gates, everyone started puhsing. It was incredable. I will never go to this show again without the package.

Do you need it? Certainly not. Is it worth it for us not having to either stand in line a long time or be part of the huge sea of people navigating to a seat when the gates finally do open? Definitely. As for the "prime seat" issue, it's not one. Except perhaps on the very outer fringes of the end sections (and the Fantasmic pkg does put you in the end section closest to the exit), there are no poor seats. We've sat both directly in front of the show and on the sides, and the quality of the show and seating was virtually the same. Your ADR is a bit early (as our last time was), but that time will allow you not to rush, and then you can meander through a shop or two or maybe take in a ride before heading on up to the show. So, whereas the necessity of the package inarguably isn't there, we conversely feel that it reduces our waiting and feeling of being a sardine. ;)

I think I will keep the ADR. I thought the time was a bit early also but since it was my third day I was already trying for, I figured that there was not a lot of choice left. :flower: If we manage to see Fantasmic before our ADR we can always cancel it. But hey, the food at Mama Melroses might be good. By the way, do they charge anything to the credit card or only if you don't show up for the ressie? :disrocks:

Every time i have been to see Fantasmic over the years, I have always been able to get great seats. The seats for the Fantasmic package are really not the best seats and they are not exclusive to those peopel either. We have always be there an hour before the show starts and we have observed the whole seating situation. Whent he theatre gets full, others entering have been seated in the Fantasmic dining package seating area. We just came back yesterday and on TUesday night we were unusally late to Fantasmic due to the WDW busses. We arrived about 5 minutes before the show. We would have had to sit all the way towards the end of the threatre, but i asked if we could sit where the people due that bought the dining apckage and he let us. We were a party of 5. We sat up at the top and were one of the first out of there. To me, it's not worth buying the package.

We did book a package. The main reason is traveling with a 2&1/2 yr old. Sometimes things like this make life a little easier for a toddler. And make Mommy and Daddy happy too. :cool1:

they will usually open up more times closer to the date. I know last year, we tried for 3 months to get a fantasmic package, and then about 2 weeks before our date, many more dates and times opened up.

Only if you don't show up or cancel in time. . .

If you wait until after the gates have opened and the line has diminished, you won't have that problem.
