Do I need "after dinner" clothes to change into?

We're on the April 17th Wonder, right around the corner and this is our first cruise. I bought three sundresses and white sandals to go with them for dinner time. But now I'm wondering..do you all go back to your room and get into capris or back into your shorts afterward to be comfortable for the rest of the night? These sandals have a medium size heel to them, so I'm really not used to walking around in that (I'm a sneaker type). So I'd love to hear what you do, thanks.

Whatever makes you comfortable will be perfect. Sometimes we like to go have a cocktail or glass of wine at Cadillac Lounge, in which case we would still have on our dinner clothes. But if we feel more like a stroll on the deck or one of the other lounges, I would put my capris back on. Just enjoy. It's ALL good.

Just like MrsMork stated...what ever your comfortable with. Myself I'm the shorts and flip flops kinda gal...so right after dinner it was out of the dress-up clothes and into something comfy. But there is no "dress code" for after dinner...except whatever your comfortable with.

ok, thanks! Can you tell me other things you have done after dinner besides drinks? I know we'll be going to all the shows. But then what? Our kids will probably be in the clubs...but not sure what we'll be doing.

On many nights we went to Rockn bar D....for the night shows...or we'd sit up on deck 9 and chat with new friends....or just stroll around the ship to see what was there...and what wasn't. There are also some mid-night buffet's (dessert buffet )...and late night movies.

We either did the show or the movies....I generally can't do any of the night time activities in the clubs since it is way to smoky for me to be able to breath in there, plus I hate goign back to the stateroom and having those smoke smelling clothes in there with me, the one time we went to the club I woke up in teh morning and could smell the smoke in the room from the clothes!

Jill.....are you going CRAZY right about now????? We are just over a WEEK away from sailing!!!! I remember when we booked this over a year ago and it seemed so far away... I need to start packing this weekend. I am starting to get the pre-trip jitters I always get..

Just depends on what you are comfy with. We usually change out of our dinner clothes..as we prefer to be comfy for the rest of the night.

We only changed after dinner on formal night on our first cruise. The kids got in their PJS & we went to see a movie.

Jillpie, do you have early seating? If so you may want to change before heading back out... or maybe not if you don't mind the heels. DH and I always have late seating and usually go to the adult venues after dinner... If I am in a dress, I usually change after dinner. But that's just me.

Thank you everyone, thats just what I was looking for. Now I have one more thing to go buy, a pair of capris or something like that. Because I have just packed shorts, shirts and dresses.

To JESW (Jill!)..girl, I am BEYOND excited!!!! If all of you can remember, I've lost 77 lbs (added 7 since that announcement) since June, so the shopping was awesome for this trip. I just can't wait to get to DW now. I can actually say "we're leaving this Wednesday" and not next month, or week!!!!!!

WOW! Way to go on the weight loss! You deserve some new outfits!

One thing I've found, if I've been out in the sun all day during the cruise, at night I get chilled in the dining rooms and shows. You might want to carry a light wrap or sweater to carry with you ( since you are wearing sundresses) just in case you get chilled. Going up on deck 10 after dinner for a stroll around deck is nice to do too, but the wind will make it feel brisk there too.
