I was thinking about our plan and had always thought I needed the park hopper option, but now I am not quite sure. Let me know what you think:

Sunday -- Epcot
Monday -- off site
Tuesday -- MGM
Wednesday -- BB and then MK
Thursday -- Animal Kingdom
Friday -- Typhoon Lagoon and then MGM
Saturday -- MK

If I get the 6 day pass with water park option, I should be set, right? Please help me -- I am getting so confused.

Just remember that without the park hopper option you have to stay in one park the entire day. I always get the park hopper because it allows you to go to one park in the morning and then leave and go back to your hotel to rest up a bit and then either go back to that same park or go visit another park. For me I can't be limited to one park for the entire day.

with a park hopper you can see parades that you could miss on the day you are at that particalar park.
example-- animal kingdom closes at 5pm. then we head to see illuminations in Epcot after dinner.

Yes, with your current plan, you do not need the park hopper option - your 6 day w/ water park option is fine.

Just remember, you can leave a park during the day and come back to the SAME park on that day without having the park hopper.

Disnewbeemom-Serene 56 makes a good point. On Thursday you plan to do AK but they usually close at 5:00 so what will you do afterwards? With the park hopper option you could head over to another park.

Hello from Lexington! :) If you have reservations in the parks you have planned for the day, you certainly don't have to hop. If you have older kids (tweens, teens) or if you are on an adults-only trip you can be more spontaneous and the park hoppers really pay off. If you're like me and you have a younger child in the group, IMO it helps to have a plan and stay in one park. We have a one-park, one-day plan this trip around and it saved us $175 for our family of 5. We bought tickets to MNSSHP with the money we saved.

Honestly, I can't imagine a Disney Vacation without parkhopping. It makes things soooo easier. What if you get to a park and it is PACKED? You're stuck.

Don't get me wrong there are some folks who don't park hop and like it. I personally don't like to be locked in to one park per day.

To me the freedom is well worth the extra $$.

You could always go to Downtown Disney after Animal Kingdom...or back to your resort/hotel to swim...or resort hop to check out the other WDW resorts. I'm a parkhopper kind of gal personally, but I think your schedule would be fine with the base tickets.

Good luck!!
