Do I have this right?

I was looking at the dates, and I think having a May or June UY (if you get the choice, that is) might be the best choice. The reasoning is based on the Rule of Four (fellow DISers, please check my math :)).

A May UY would allow banking current year points from May - December, leaving the "black out months" (months you can not bank) from January - April. This would allow you to cancel reservations and bank the points during your normal vacation dates AND during the summer months (for when the kids get into school and you need to shift your dates).

A June UY would allow banking from June - January, with the "blackout dates" being Feb - May.

As mentioned, you can save money in a 2BR villa by eating in the room, since it has a full kitchen (we eat in the room most of the trip). In addition, you don't need to bring as many cloths, since you'll have a full sized washer/dryer (saves baggage fees and having to heft things around).

Just wanted to throw that out there. Good luck!

P.S. If you want to try it before you buy it, you could consider renting points from a member (Rent/Trade Board). This way, you can buy a stripped contract (if needed) and save for your next trip (recommend you get into the banking pattern than borrowing (this is a trap which is evil and causes much addonitis thinking :p)
