Do I have a right to be worried?

My trip is the second to last week of May, we have our plane tickets, our hotel is booked, but… no Disney tickets. My fiancée won't let me buy them yet and I'm worried about being able to actually ride anything if we don't have time to book the FPs+. Fiancée doesn't understand this because she has never been to DW. She keeps saying not to worry because she just figured we would get our tickets once we got there but I've told her repeatedly we need to make FP+ in advance but she doesn't seem to care. Do I have a right to be worried or should I just calm down and chill out?

You will be able to ride many things without a FP+.

HOWEVER, since you need to buy tickets anyway, it would make SO MUCH MORE SENSE
to buy them in advance and make the "important" FP+ reservations as soon as you can schedule them.
(Some attractions will take MUCH more waiting in line time without a FP+.)

Show her this post.
Show her the FP+ board (HERE,) in general.

>> And, in particular, show her the first two posts in THIS very important thread!!

BTW, by waiting, you will now have to pay the NEW HIGHER TICKET PRICES which go into effect tomorrow.

I'd be a little anxious because I'm a total type A planner. Is there any reason why she is refusing to get them ahead of time? Seems like a silly thing to dig in her heels about.

I know, I'm very upset right now and she doesn't understand why even though I've told her multiple times that we need to plan as far ahead as possible. She doesn't understand that people literally spend years planning these trips and we already are working with a time crunch.

Basically, a family friend gave us money towards our trip and fiancée dragged her feet about getting her bank account set up, getting it deposited, etc. It still hasn't been processed by the bank and she doesn't care because she doesn't understand how important this is to me.

OK.
Have fun!

Have you told her?

Do you have the means to just get the tickets yourself?

She doesn't care, like at all. Frustrating!

I have the money in my account we need to use for rent in a couple weeks. I told her we could use that money and switch the money given to us into my account as soon as it came in. She said absolutely not.

As the wise Robo said, you will be able to get on plenty of rides without the FP in advance and you will be able to book them for the rest of your trip once you are there. Ticket prices are increasing so you would be better off getting them now and if you shop around you can find discounts, which you won't get if you wait until you get there. Despite what you read on the boards, it is possible to go without spending a year planning and doing color coded spreadsheets containing down to the minute touring plans, will you get to ride everything you want to ride without possibly waiting in a line if you don't book FPs, possibly not. Relax and take a breath, unless you are going tomorrow and if you go ahead and get your tickets before you go, you will still be able to book FPs.

Well, I don't know her, but, since you just keep posting that she "doesn't care…"
I'm going to guess that there are other things that may be in the mix that are a bit "difficult," too.

Have fun!

Well she cares (I may be a bit dramatic) but she doesn't care as much as I do… which is a lot!

What you may have is simply a difference of vacation style.
She simply may not be "into" Disney the way you are.

Now there are ways to enjoy Disney without micro scheduling your days, my family does it all the time but it's going to require you to lower you planning instincts

Offer up a compromise. some where in between now and mid May. Say April first.

I could be totally wrong here, and I hope I am, but it sounds like there is more to this. It takes a half hour if that, to set up a bank account.

Exactly. Our friend gifted the money to us through a honeymoon registry, so she had to approve it and all that. I asked her to take care of it, since the registry is under her email and information, and when I asked for an update the next day, she looked and said she needed to link her bank account/routing number in order for the funds to go through. I was upset because I had asked her several times to make sure it had been taken care of so we could get the money ASAP. She waited two days before calling the bank to find out her routing/account number (she doesn't have checks) and then another day before actually linking the information to the website. I consider myself a pretty patient person but I don't like to wait when it's completely unnecessary.

I know the money will come through within the week, but her putting it off for so long is what really frustrates me.

I am a planner and I would be freaking out, but DH doesn't tell me what to do we discuss it and then we make a decision together for over $500 purchases (even though he is the only one that works outside the house). I am an adult I don't need someone telling me what to do. I would calmly sit down and talk to her how important it is to you, specially if you have the money for it.

Agree. Although I wouldn't personally use money reserved for rent to buy tickets (even if it was going to be replenished by this gift). The money was a gift to you both: you need to be adults and mutually decide how and when to spend it.
