So I have this grand idea of making veggi sushi tonight, but I don't have a sushi bamboo rolling mat. Do grocery stores sell these? Are they really $$$? I know I'm not going to use it often, so I don't want to spend more than $5 probably- any hints? Can something else be used in place of a bamboo rolling mat?? This could be a sad attempt at sushi :lmao:

an asian grocery would have them. not sure if they are expensive or not. I have made sushi with parchment paper - works just fine (better, actually for the rice on the outside rolls).

have fun!

I'm assuming Giant Eagle's 'asian' section would have them... and I can't imagine that they'd be THAT much...

We've just used Saran Wrap, and we've also just rolled by not using anything.
Maybe cause I'm not adept, the time we did use rollers I found them unwieldy.
