Do Frogg Toggs really work? (or are worth the cost?)

I actually went and bought some yesterday for our trip this summer, but I'm now debating returning them. After feeling them, I'm not sure if having this around my neck/shoulders would be the most comfortable. Especially in August when it's so hot and humid.

I hate to spend $50 on these and then only to find out that it was a mistake and they don't really work or have the family use them once and then find out they don't like wearing them.

Can anyone provide me some feedback on the first time you bought these or used these. Did you find them useful, or a pain to use.

Thanks!

We have one and bought ours for our son for football. Football season in Az is scorching- 110+ temps in August. He loved it and couldn't go to practice without it. Now for the parks, I can't help you as I'm trying to figure out whether to bring it or not for our trip this week.

My family has used these and think they work great. I bought the triangular shaped scarf and fold/rolled it and placed it around my neck. I also occasionally took it off and used it to cool my forehead. They do stay cool as long as they are damp. It might feel a little bulky but never heavy. The coolness it provides outweighs any concerns. I did put a large ziplock baggie in my bag so that I had a place to put it when I did not want to wear it.

We do use our Frogg Toggs a lot. I know they can be bulky, but as a pp mentioned, they never feel heavy. My kids love to place them on the stroller seat and then lean against them. I store mine in a ziploc also so it stays damp, but they never feel wet to the touch. I would recommend them if you get hot easily or have little ones.

Where can I get on these neard WDW. We live overseas but have read alot about these. On our next trip we'll have a shopping day planned. Any stores near WDW?

We have been using these for several years. My daughter plays select softball so we travel a lot during the summer and live in the Deep South. They are really big so we cut them in half to make 2 triangles so we have 4 instead of 2 and they are less bulky with clothes on www.chilipad.com or we bought them at wal mart

You can get them at Walmart or Dick's sporting goods. I know there are several WMs near WDW, as that's where we get our groceries when we stay. They are in the camping section.

Yes! We got ours at WalMart for around $12 and get 2 out of 1 by cutting it lengthwise so that it looks like 2 long rectangles. My 9 you DD was on a medication last June that made her more sensitive to heat and sun so we gave these a try and they really did work! They tend to get smelly after a while so I would just give it a quick wash in the sink with handsoap, rinse it well and they were good to go again.

Yep. Exactly.

Exactly what I did with mine. :)

We used them in July and everyone in our party had varying ideas of just *how* well they worked, but all agreed they were better off with it than not having one. My youngest sister, 7 at the time, and myself both thought they were the bees knees; Cooling without feeling heavy or soaked and indispensable midday. My mother and other sis, 18, felt they were just alright and not anything amazing but did happily use them. DBF was somewhere in between opinions on their effectiveness and didn't end up using them much, but he probably has the highest heat tolerance of our bunch.

I bought ours at Bed, Bath and Beyond with a coupon, believe it made them around $8-9 each.

My son has one for baseball and seems to love it. One time we were at another amusement park when it was about 103 degrees out. I ended up bringing the washcloths from the hotel room with us (and took them back of course) and we kept those wet and wrapped around our necks. We just poured ice when they needed cooling.

What is Five Below? Is that inflations version of the Dollar Store?

Five Below is a chain store here in NJ, don't know if they are all over the country or not? guess it is like an expensive dollar store. but you do get better stuff cheap. kids love it.
