Do Dogs Have Bellybuttons?

It would seem so, but I looked all over Spectro's belly and couldn't find one. It would seem all mammals should have a bellybutton, right? But if he has one, I can't find it.

actually - my dog's is now covered by a scar (but I don't let on to him, so he doesn't get a complex! )

no, not like a persons - more like a flat mark kinda thing - sometimes, if I remember from my other dogs in the past - the hair will "whorl" around it....I used to tell by where there was a difference in the hair - but it is hard with a long or thick haired dog...

They sure do! I can see my Lab's when he rolls over for us to pet his tummy. His actually DOES look almost like a person's, lol!

my dog now seems to have a little "innie", but the other scar seems to curve around it, so I can't tell if it is the scar or the way the belly button already was?

I don't remember my other dogs having any thing but a flat scar?

Now...what is that thing called on a dog thats about "elbow" height and looks like a callous? Why is it there and how do they get it? Is it a naturally occurring thing in some breeds?

I just looked it up - it is either the "hock"=ankle or the "carpal"=elbow.
