Do Crocs Eat Socks??

I know, very Seuss of me to ask in that way, but I have gone through quite a few pairs of socks while wearing my Crocs this past winter season. I noticed that my socks seem to wear out really fast on the bottom of my feet these days. I have a feeling that my Crocs are "eating" my socks.

Anyone else?? :confused3 :rotfl:

Hmm...that's interesting because I have the same situation here but had just chalked it up to working out a lot and thinking my socks were getting worn from all the aerobics, even though I've been doing aerobics for years and had never gone through quite so many socks before.

I'm interested to hear others' thoughts!

I've been wearing them for years and never noticed a problem. I have six pairs and wear them almost every day.

I'm waiting for someone to say something about not wearing Crocs with socks...:teeth: My feet get too sweaty without the socks!

Crocs make my right sock fall down. It drives me crazy. My cheap payless ones don't do that.

If I wear socks shorter than mid calf, they twist around and sometimes fall down (now that I think of it, it is mostly my right foot). Hmmmm

my crocs drive me mad when i wear them with socks, but it's always my left sock that spins round and falls down!!!!

Thank goodness, no problems here with socks and crocs! No falling, can't stand them without socks unless only walking out to the pool!

I am going to watch my socks though, mine were all really bad to begin with but noticed most of them ended with holes, but I really think they would have anyways, they were REALLY thin!

BTW, I LOVE my socks from the disney store from a few years back, they are right above the ankle with pooh characters, there was a set of mickey characters too. Anyone know of similar socks! I do not like the ones from the parks at all!

No problem with my socks and Crocs, wear them all the time.:thumbsup2

I never wear them with socks, but my DD 5 does sometimes. I have never noticed excessive sock wear.

Ok!! I think I might have a clue to "Crocs Eating Socks"

A. For those who have excessive sock wear, what kind of material were your socks made of?

B. For those who had no sock wear, what kind kind of material were your socks made of?

Now maybe we can narrow this problem down :magnify: to Cotton or Synthetic socks.

I'll be waiting for more data to solve this mystery!! lol !!

I think my socks are cotton and are fine. You could be right on this one. I can see where if they twist and more they could wear out faster.

My cotton socks don't seem to wear or twist (short or tall socks) But I have noticed that sometimes they get excessively dirty when I wear socks with crocs.

Hmmm, well I thought maybe the little nubbies inside the Crocs were eating my socks. My sister in law said she no longer wears her Crocs with socks because all her socks were getting threadbare really really fast. The same thing happened to mine and I was a little ticked because they were my favorite Tinker Bell socks.

So, maybe thicker socks will stand up to Crocs?? :rotfl:

I have been wearing my crocs with socks most all winter and have not had a problem. I wear the socks that I got at WDW with the Mickeys on them. They have stayed nice and thick and no falling socks! I am going to get some more this trip. They are expensive, I think, but they work well with the crocs for me!

More Data needed what type of material are socks made of??

I'm a crocs n socks girl!

I noticed my Hanes socks are wearing thin. The thicker "walking" socks from Target seem to be doing ok, though.

I would imagine that the little nubs would cause excessive wear on any sock. Still, its worth it! So comfy! :cloud9:

My treasured Tinker Bell socks were a thinner type of cotton trouser sock. They were my favorites and I hope to find a replacement on my next trip to Disney. I wear the Hanes cotton white socks most of the time with my Crocs and they are looking a little worn out on the bottom too. Shouldn't be too much longer and I'll be wearing through them.
