When you tell them that you are going back to WDW again and again and again.....?
We're aiming for 3 visits in 2006

Nobody really gives us a hard time about it. We're known among our friends & family as the "Disney experts." :rotfl:

It's funny, when I was sending out my out of office notification to the folks in my department in September one of the guys asked me where I was going. When I said Disney he paused and said, "Didn't you just go there?" I chuckled and said, "No, that was in March." Another pause and then he said, "Oh, guess you like it there?" I told him that was an understatement. LOL

Much of our family thinks we are "nuts", as in why don't we go someplace else. I wonder why they only came here once, and never come back again.

Absolutely! and it doesn't bother me in the least. I love WDW and kinda understand that some people don't (still trying to fully grasp this, though) and that's ok with me.

yes, at 1st.

They seemed to have accepted it as who we are now.

When we explain DVC and AP it seems to make more sense.

Really most people have a favorite vacation spot really. WDW is ours.

DH likes doing things he is comfortable and knows about (the airport, where to go, what youa re doing) but is still always changing, growing and getting better. (in most cases.)

My own children! We took them when they were young teens and older teens. Both times they thought they were too cool for WDW and too cool to do anything with their parents. Now we have made 3 trips without them. They whine a little when we leave, but they don't really care. How did I get children who are not into WDW???

Yup! One woman at works says things like, "you are missing out on so many other things" and "why don't ya'll try something different?" I just tell her that I would feel like I was missing out if I WASN'T at Disney World!!!

I don't care what they say...

yep, but we're becoming the "disney freaks" or "disney experts" among our peers...

I like it when one year they look at you like your crazy then the next they come to you for suggestions.I laugh and give them one of my homemade DVD's.Then they come back and say thats only 7 days how did you get all of that in.

We disney lovers have nothing to be embarresed about. What about those folks that go to the "Hamptons", or the "Islands" or the "Shore" all the time. Hey, it's what we enjoy! :earsboy: :earsgirl:

Yes, but, they don't pay for my vacations, so, who cares??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Seriously, why should they care? I've been to Europe, Canada, Central and South America and 3 cruises..that's more than most of them have done.

I love going to WDW!!!

:cheer2: 3rd trip this year Nov 30-Dec 5 :cheer2:

Yes. We've gone 3 x a year the last few years. I have only told a couple of people, and not even my mother, that I am taking my girls on a surprise trip in Dec. It's our 4th time this year. The funny thing is, after I got home last week from a trip I took with my sister and nephew, mom said she and dad are thinking of going next year when we go. Then she said, so you'll probably be going back in 2 months, and I said, yes I am and she just laughed moved on to a new topic... :rotfl:

Yes! They think we are Disney freaks. I dressed as a Disney tourist for my Halloween costume yesterday complete with an Animal Kingdom cast member's shirt, lanyard, Disney bucket hat, sunglasses, and camera around my neck. They asked if I went to the parks dressed like that and I said no, because I was missing my backpack. They thought I was nuts because I looked like such a dumb tourist. I don't care. My mother outlaw and her friend were here this weekend as they were passing through town to go to some pottery thing up in NC. They watched Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear.....well I say watched, they slept through it. They don't get Disney magic either. Heck, my mother outlaw is joining us on the first day of vacation and she could care less if it was Disney or a dinner show somewhere. They just don't get it. :confused3 Maggie

I just tell people I am going to Florida. For some reason going to Florida is okay with others, many people from Michigan go to Florida for vacations, but saying I am going to Disney. . . again. . . brings strange looks.

The people we know like that think the whole Disneyworld is like a big Magic Kingdom, with Mickey Mouse and kiddie rides everywhere. They think it's like spending a whole week in our local amusement park. Although we don't go over and over ... only every other year or so ... they think we're crazy for spending so much money to go there.

A vacation, to me, is a place where you can forget about reality, take your kids and have them enjoy themselves in a comfortable setting and also be able to eat well and stay in great places. I'm not a "sit on the beach and drink pina colada" person. I need to not climb mountains or anything, but remain stimulated. Disney solves all of these problems for us. And, we kill two birds with one stone as my dp's live an hour away and we HAVE to go and visit them anyway! :earboy2:

My co-workers, family (with the exception of my mother and aunt)and friends just don't understand the lure of Disneyworld, most have never even been there and think it is just a glorified amusement park. They feel we should be going someplace different each year to gain different experiences. It is very funny since most of them go to the Jersey Shore, Hamptons or Fire Island every year, for years on end. My boss is married to a woman from Italy and every vacation for the past 15 years has been to Italy to visit her family - which of course is fine - but it is still every vacation. It does not bother me at all I simply say that I work hard all year long and choose to go where I love it the most, after all it is my money I am spending. What really gets people crazy is that almost every year we go two and three times!!! I have given up on trying to explain things to them. I go and enjoy myself. Leaving on 11/25 and can't wait to get there I am almost flying already.

My mom has commented about it, telling me, "there are other places out there" but my parents idea of a vacation is VERY different then ours.

I expect when I tell my coworkers that I am going again in March (after having been there in Aug, and going again in Aug) that they will probably comment. Especially when they hear we are NOT taking DS this time.

We really bounced around some other ideas for March, like Vegas and Sweden, but in the end we knew we would end up in WDW.
