Do characters acknowledge their kids from Descendants?

My daughter was just watching Descendants for the third or fourth time today and I was thinking whether or not characters will acknowledge that they have kids that are in the Descendants movie. Like if we ask Belle about her son will she answer questions like she has a son or will she act like she is straight out of her own movie?

Sorry if this was already discussed. I ran a search and didn't see anything about it.

I don't know about Descendants but they do know their sequels

We talk to every Ariel about her daughter. She shares a name with DGD. We have never met an Ariel who is unaware of her daughters name. We even came across a Jasmine who knew. She told us Melody was giving Abu a swimming lesson

And you can find that the step family is aware of what happens in their sequels

Good question and I'm sure they are trained to a specific response
Same way Rapunzel would be if you asked about why her hair grew back
Disney would have thought of those things without a doubt and they would want the friends to all have the same response

Agreed. I don't understand why adults would try to get Rapunzel to explain her hair. A little kid asking sure, they are curious and don't know. But when an adult tries to trip them up? Why!?!

Here is the answer Rapunzel gave our DD, when she asked that very same question. Rapunzel just said that she let it grow back, but as you can see it is not as long as before and that she did not like it that long because it took all day to brush it Another time I mentioned to my DW while waiting in line to meet Ariel and Eric, that Eric's hair reminded me of Elvis. Well, when my DD met them she told Eric this and he asks who is this person they call Elvis, if he is dangerous I will have to get my hound dog after him. He made one other Elvis song reference and then as we were leaving he finished with the ever popular "Thank you, thank you very much" Gaston has got to be one of the best to interact with, the 2 we have met were very funny and quick witted and they actually try to get you to say something. Just some of our experiences

Who mentioned adults asking? You can be certain kids notice and ask and they do have answers they are taught. That way if the child meets more than 1 friend of a character on their trip and asks each the same question they get a similar answer

Your right, no body specifically mentioned adults, my apologies. It just reminded me of other posts I have read/videos I have seen where actual adults have tried asking difficult questions where they seem to be intentionally trying to trip them up. As I said though I totally get why kids ask, they are inquisitive and way more aware then we give them credit for sometimes and I think that's a good thing.

My kids love characters. Love them. They've never wondered why situations were different, etc. I don't so much think they try to reconcile the time that has elapsed. I think they feel more like they've stepped into the movie.

It's doubtful they would. It's not really part of the classic Disney realm so I doubt any of the character's friends would bother with it. The majority probably don't watch Disney Channel and might not even know the movie exists, let alone care about it.

It isn't about what they have watched or care about but what Disney tells them they need to know. So the sequels and spin offs may br something they are suppose to know.

When we were at DL a couple of summers ago, we interacted with Capt. Hook. We told him that we had just watched the new Tinker Bell movie, The Pirate Fairy. He indicated that he was in it and we agreed. Then he held up his hook, and I commented that he still had both hands in the movie. He hung his head and we all laughed.

So I'm not sure about The Descendants, but at least some characters keep up with the other movies they are in. It's probably worth a question.
