Do big kids in strollers?

I don't have children. All of our friends do. I cannot imagine the 10 year olds that I know using stroller at Disneyland, nor the parents pushing them around in it.

That said... I don't care if a 10 year old uses a stroller. It's not my kid and as long as you don't run over my heel, it's not my business. However, I do have the right to think (if they are a perfectly healthy kid) it's odd at that age.

How else could someone average over 250 posts per month?
That's only 8 posts a day. Not difficult at all, especially if you participate on more than one section of DIS.

The last year we used a stroller at DL was when ds was 4. After that he did fine with walking. But if a child doesn't, so what? I don't get what the big deal is. I guess I'm more bothered that people are bothered by seeing such a thing. Really, people don't have better things to be thinking about on vacation at DL?

I'm on vacation. Unless someone else is doing something that affects me directly or somehow threatens my family, I do not pay any attention to what others are doing.

Well, then, you are missing out on the fun of vacation. At work, at home, with your family and friends you are constantly being judged. Vacation is your chance to judge others. It's very relaxing! I just judged you for being nonjudgmental and I feel refreshed.

It's sounds to me like maybe if there was a little less hand squeezing and judging strangers there would be more time for you to enjoy the park...

Don't you get it? Feeling superior to the strangers around you IS enjoying the park! You pay good money to go to DL, use the opportunity to exchange smug glances with your spouse about all the idiots and their fat, lazy kids.

But there are so many circumstances to which I am not privy that I would not ever judge someone else for their choice.

But that's the best time to judge others! It gets much harder to judge people once you get to know them, particularly when you know them well enough to understand that they are no more imperfect than you are. As Mark Twain once said, it is better to remain silent and think you are better than someone else than to talk to that person and realize you are the one who is a jerk.

If you do not have kids you should in no way shape or form judge what others do with their children.

Nonsense! Do you think you magically gain the ability to feel superior to a stranger based on a single glance when your first child is born? No, it takes years of practice! That's why most people start out in high school by judging their best friend to be a tramp/bad at sports (depending on gender). Start early, and then someday maybe you'll be good enough at it to go on vacation, see a large-ish child in a stroller, and think to yourself, "What is this world coming to?"

NOTE: I do not use smileys to indicate that I am joking. I'm not one of those types. You know the type I mean? Sure you do.

Who cares ????? :confused3

If someone chooses to use or not use a stroller with their older children that is their business.

I think all families are different and parents should make decisions based on what works for them.

If you want to try a stroller, by all means do. But, if a stroller is not you thing, then that's is great too.

You are at the happiness place on earth ! Enjoy ! :wizard:
