Do as Dreamers Do~Disney Dream February 5th, 2012

Happy new year!

We will be on the 2/5/12 dream and can't wait! It will be me & DH, DS, and 2 DDs, plus 6 other family members. After the cruise, we're off to 3 nights in Disney world- first time for me and my kids.

I've cruised before but not on DCL. We received our packet with luggage tags yesterday, and now I'm starting to panic Cause I have so much to do! Hard to believe we'll be on the Dream five weeks from now!

Renee:yay:

Yes I know!! And now it's just FOUR weeks!! I am being MOST unproductive, almost so excited I can't see straight!! Just watching that weather... OH PULLLLLEEEEZ let it warm up for us!

We have been watching all the youtube videos of the ship with the kids. If you haven't seen any of them they are a very fun way to get even more excited!

If I get any more excited I will wet my pants... (that said, I will go take a look-see!)

On second thought, I have been having these anti-imagery thoughts... since it is our first one I'm almost trying NOT to see anything for these last weeks before so as to have a feast for the eyes at first glance!!

Whatever though... it is ALL GOOD because no matter how the ship/cruise/weather goes, I will not be doing this: :laundy:

Even though we have been on 9 Disney cruises (on the Magic and Wonder) the Dream will be a whole new experience for us too. We are excited and not sure what to expect. I stopped reading about the Dream when the threads about the Quiet Cove pool all sound miserable. I hope we are pleasantly surprised.

I know! There is a new thread about magic/pixie dust that was fun to read - all good stuff... yes, I'm staying away from the critical ones, but I did read the one about the ship not being able to dock at Castaway Cay on occasion. That was enlightening and I'm glad I know that that could happen so I'm keeping an open mind so as not to be disappointed!!

We have been on several cruises with really rough seas. Port changes, ports cancelled, dishes flying in the dining room, holding on to railings while walking in hallways, but we have always been able to dock at Castaway Cay. Stay positive!

Evening fellow cruisers :)

My fiance and I will be joining you on this cruise ... it will be our 5th cruise with DCL and our 2nd time on the Dream (we were lucky enough to be on the maiden voyage too).

You're right to stay away from the negative threads about the Dream .. there is good and bad with every ship and only your opinion counts ultimately. The cruise will be a very horrible experience if people turn up expecting the worst .. go with an open mind and you'll hopefully enjoy it. Yes, the Dream seems massive .. yes, it has a different layout .... but if your glass is half full before you board, then you're onto a winner!

When we sailed on the MV, I was quite poorly so didn't get to enjoy the ship as much as I would have liked ... I slept for alot of it and seemed to queue for the other part of it (Dooney bags and Don 'Ducky' Williams autographs)! This time, I'll be ensuring we get to do Mid Ship Detectives, have more than one go on the Aquaduck, tasting the food and getting off for CC.

On the MV, we got a free upgrade to room 9670 ... OMG, it was huuuuuuuuuuuge!!! This time, no such luck .. room 2013, inside virtual porthole. Really looking forward to seeing the virtual portholes working though as when we did the cabin tour on the MV, we never timed it right to see a character pop up (every half an hour apparently).

Maybe see you by the adult pool for a cocktail or two!:thumbsup2

This will be our first Disney Cruise, and the first cruise for my daughters (ages 4 and 10 months.) I would love to connect with someone that has a child 3-5 years old on the cruise and "introduce" the kids via Skype before the trip.

We are traveling with family, but I know my 4 year old would love a buddy her own age to hang out with!

Let me know if you would like to connect!

We thought we'd see what all the fuss is about and try out the cruise and WDW. :yay: It will be DM, DH, DD12, DD11, DS8, DD4 and Dbaby 4 months stays home with g-ma. We really want to do Fish Extenders. Has anyone started one for this sailing? My kids love all the extra stuff like pin trading and hidden Mickey's. We are sooo excited. We are from Utah and will be staying before and after the cruise at All Star Music Hotel. FYI... We are on Deck 8 in adjoining staterooms.

I was trying to get people to do the fish extender exchange about a month back, but unfortunately no one else wanted to... I think it may be a little late to get together now :sad2:

If someone else wants to take the lead with this, I would be glad to do it... Im just too busy to organize it myself.
If we are going to do this, I need to know ASAP so I can get the FE and gifts! :thumbsup2

Sailing on the Dream on the 2/2 and 2/5 cruise! :-) Party of one here.

Just checking in here again... anyone around? :-)

So excited, half-packed...bought movie candy today at Walmart - 98cents a box!! I feel so bad for those who wanted to do a FE exchange, are we lame or what?? I have my hands full just doing goodies for the other 17 people in our family that are going. This will just be an excuse for you to book another cruise ASAP!

...was almost 80 degrees in Nassau the other day!!!

I can't wait!!! It's going to be awesome to be on board. I was on the M/V so it's been a year (that's a long time for me) lol.

I will aspire to become someone who can say that! For now, it is our first!! Give me time though... haha :rolleyes1

Hi all, I can breathe a sigh of relief...I just finished serving on a Jury for a Criminal Case and I was very worried it would run over into my cruise. But here I am! Time to get very busy and get ready to CRUISE!
