Do AP holders HAVE to ask for EWP to get the rate?

I called, and had no luck getting AP rates for my dates--but didn't specifically ASK for the EWP rate. Do you think I have to ask for EWP to get the "Passholder" rates? Meaning, are there no Passholder rates, but only EWP rates that are only available for Passholders? Am I making sense? LOL

Gosh, now I want to call back, and try some of the other strategies mentioned on other threads, and the EWP "code word", lol. Will they think I am nuts? I just booked ten minutes ago!

I would call again and ask specifically for the EWP rate (don't worry, they wont know you called less than an hour ago). Some of the operators keep track of what code goes with what, but I have encountered several who will only book a discount if you specifcally give the code.

I didn't have to give them the code, but I did tell the very nice lady that we were annual passholders. She then said "well let me check and see if there are any good rates for you." I never did give a code but she gave me the same rate as if I had.

I would definitely call back and ask for the code. Definitely nothing to loose by giving it a shot, but so much possible to gain!!!

Call back! I called at ~9 AM and the CM told me the AP rates weren't available yet!!!! I (nicely) told him I had received an email from WDW saying they were out, then he found them!

Just keep calling, just keep calling, calling, calling, calling...

I called and asked for the AP rate to be applied. Before the CM gave me the new rate, she asked me for the code. Now, if I hadn't known it was 'EWP', would she have said there were no AP rates? That seems a little silly. But thanks to the Dis, I knew the code and got the discount.

I called about an hour ago. I already had a reservation with a postcard rate (which is the same as the AP rate) for Oct 21-24. Today I added another night on and they applied the AP rate code for the addt'l night.

Also, my airline tickets have been around 256.70-276.70 for the last 2 weeks. This morning they dropped to 216.70 and I just checked again and booked for 166.70. Yippy!!! I am so excited!!

Just had to share my great news!!!

I called this morning for AP rates in December for AKL. At first the CM told me that they weren't released yet....only September. So then I told her that I read on the DIS" boards that the new AP rates came out. She then checked again and said no rooms available. I did ask for the nights of December 26 & 27....and she said the AP rates posted are through December 25. Can anyone confirm this? Or should I try again and see what answer I get the second time around?

Thanks!

Here is the information from Mousesavers, the rates go to 12/25

WDW Annual Passholders can ask for Code EWP and get special discounted rates at select Walt Disney World resorts for check-ins 9/30/04 – 12/25/04. These discounts are not available 11/10/04-11/13/04 and 11/23/04-11/27/04. Rates will vary by season.

They also asked me for the code. If you don't have it, it seemed like you wouldn't get it. Of course everyone here knows it! <s>

Question - if you don't have your AP yet, are the rates that come out tomorrow the same except you're not spending money for the AP? I applied for the disney visa online so I have that if necessary.

Ugh - please read through the cross out- don't know why my puter does that sometimes.
