Do AP holders get into the park early?

Sadly, with the start of the keys to the kingdom cards the hotels now have, it's been reported that ONLY the guests with keycards can get in for MM. :(

I was just there the weekend before Thanksgiving and got in with DizMe and her sister who were staying at the DLH. They didn't ask any questions at all. I just followed them in! Maybe we were just lucky?:confused3

I wonder how they would know if you were just all staying in the same room? When DH and I go we only have shown them the one room key, and all 3 of us get in. So now everyone has to show a room key?

I upgraded my 4 day hopper to a dlx AP while we were there, and on our thurs magic morning I was asked if I was staying on property, and asked to show my Key to the kingdom room key. I also remember during upgrading to the AP being asked some random questions that if answered wrong seemed to be verifiable in order to upgrade. It does seem to be that Disney is becoming more strict to go by the book. If I had not been able to show my card I have no doubt she would have denied us magic morning.

lostgirlz, before they started with the keycard thing (they always had keycards, but they weren't always used for charging and such), they gave guests one white slip of paper (per room). That slip of paper got up to 6 people in for MM, and it's what you showed to charge food and merchandise to the room.

So before, you would have had that slip of paper for MM, but now it's the keycard, and I guess it's up in the air of whether keycard-holding guests can get others in for MM. :)

Oh I HATED the paper slip. They were still using that in 06 when we went for the first time. We were not told we needed it to get into MM unti, our first time. They let us in, but made sure we knew to have it next time. I LOVE the new key to the kingdom. It was so easy at WDW. I love DL has it now. My 4 y/o dd only needed her hopper, but they were asking all others for the key card.
