Do any restaurants charge extra for sharing a plate?

Hi -

We're trying a TON of new restaurants on our next trip and in an effort to conserve some calories there might be times that we'd like to share a meal (appetizer, main course and dessert).

Are there any WDW restaurants that charge extra for sharing?

We'll tip as if we all ordered individual meals so the server isn't jilted.

Thanks!

:)

My older DD and I often share meals. We have never been charged for an extra plate. Maybe some of the "nicer" places might, but none that we have tried.

The only restaurants that might charge for 'plate sharing' would be non-Disney restaurants (like Shula's or any of the Swan/Dolphin restaurants).
I contacted Shula's about their menu and plate sharing issues, and they charge $10 for sharing.

Just remember though, even if you get charged a plate sharing fee at a few restaurants- that still would be less expensive than ordering (and wasting) a second entree.

We share entrees all the time, last night we shared one at Artist Point. DH had a salad, I had soup, and we shared the entree. THEN, we split the berry cobbler dessert between three of us, and it was more than plenty!!

Have a great time!!

I don't know if at Shula's if you can get aroudn the 10 charge by one of you ordering an app. as your meal, but if you eat there you might want to try.

I had a horrble time yrs ago at an olive garden near my home. We had eaten there several tiems before and never had a problem with my DS (who was around 4 or 5 atthe time) "sharing" with us. It even said clearly on the menu that kids ate from the all you can eat salad for free. Well we ordered an expensive app. a meal and dessert. Imagine my suprise when the final bill had a charge close to 6 or 7 $$$ for salad. I asked why was Icharged for a salad when it came with my meal. I was told it was because my DS had a few bites. I argued with the server for a long time, he refussed to get the manager. I finally had to get another server to find the manager for me. Well he could not believe what the server was tryign to pull. All we could figure was he was trying to get a larger tip by having a larger final bill. Well he screwed that up. He got no tip what so ever and was written up.

DH and I have shared meals at many WDW restaurants - Brown Derby, Le Cellier - to name a couple and have never been charged a fee. Matter of fact, they divided the entree in the kitchen and served it on separate plates. On the other hand, we have a local restaurant (Borger, TX) that charges $2 for sharing.
