Do any Disney ships have an "Internet Cafe?"

This question probably shows my age, but my husband and I were wondering if any of the Disney ships still had an internet cafe, as in the past?

Yeah Internet just isn't as accessible... and shouldn't be as it's a vacation.

I've seen more folks down in the main lobby doing "work" - maybe the signal they are paying for works better than in their cabins? And there is usually a coffee bar nearby... so maybe that make it like a Cafe? But no, free Internet doesn't exist.

When we sailed DCL last time, we were able to access WhatsApp without an internet package. It gave us what we needed to keep in touch with family and friends. This was on the Fantasy in 2023.

Also, our cell plans now include Canada, US and Mexico so now that we’ve started sailing with RCL, we connect at ports in those locations to catch up with family and friends then disconnect at sea.

Thanks, everyone. I figured that was of a bygone era, but had to ask! We will be sailing for a month (three back-to-backs) and I need to figure out how to pay my bills, etc. when I'm without a computer. Looks like I'll be packing one and doing a little upkeep during at least one of the trips!

Wow ! One ship, multiple ships ? How many nights each cruise ?

We will be on the Dream from 31 August through 27 September! We're doing a Northern European cruise first, followed by the British Isles cruise, and finishing with the westbound Transatlantic. It started as the first cruise only, but we decided that our "Graduation Trip" from work should be all that we could make it! We will retire on 22 August.

Why do you have to pack a computer? Just use your smartphone.

My "smartphone" is six years old and not even able to work the DCL app anymore! My husband like to keep his up-to-date but as long as mine can text and talk, I'm good. I definitely don't feel comfortable using a phone for any banking or other stuff.

I'm actually the treasurer for two organizations, and it's their bills I'm needing to pay. I think I'm going to "prepay" based on a good average for each of them, as well as for myself, and worry about the delta when I get home. If I shoot over the top, it'll be fine. I sometimes had to do this when I worked overseas and was gone for a month at a time ... I'm sure I can remember how I used to do that!

You can schedule payments before you leave. That’s how we do it. Or, set up auto payments on some of your accounts. Or, pay by phone when you’re in port, that’s easier.

If you don't want to pay for WiFi onboard, you could almost certainly find cafes with WiFi at European ports -- that would mean lugging around a computer, though.

Be careful doing any financial transactions on an open WiFi network. I would worry more about the free WiFi in ports than on the ship. You could check into creating a personal hotspot using the data plan on your phone for a more secure connection.
