Do all rooms have upper bunk?

My DD5 and I went on a cruise last April to Italy, and she loved sleeping in the upper bunk. Now, the whole family is going April 21st and she wants that upper bunk again! Do all the catagories have the upper bunk? Thanks!

No, not all of the cabins have bunks. Some of the cabins only sleep 3 while those with the upper bunks sleep 4.

This applies to cat. 10 and 11, and probably others.

They don't all have upper bunks. I believe that in addition to categories mentioned above there are at least some upper bunk rooms in categories 5-9. They usually assign those to families of four, but if you are less, I guess you could always try requesting one. I checked the brochure and it doesn't seem to indicate which rooms sleep four, but I'm sure a good travel agent could let you know which rooms have the upper bunks.

Catagory 7s only sleep 3 and have no upper bunks. We stayed in a Cat 10 last year and it had an upper bunk. Our stateroom hostess was kind enought to make it up each night for our son.

Cat 4 Family Staterooms have upper bunks. I don't know if all of them do, but the 4 we stayed in had them. Obviously, because we had 5 people in cabin.

Where are the bunks located? Above the sofa or the beds?

Rooms that sleep three utilize a single, convertible sofa for the third person. The back of the sofa folds over to form a single bed, approximately 32 x 72 inches (81 x 183 cm).

Rooms that sleep four utilize a ceiling pull-down berth for the fourth person. The pull-down berth sets up over the sofa berth. I have some photos of Jeff, our cabin host, demonstrating how the upper berth folds down from the ceiling.

The pull-down berth is approximately 32 x 72 inches (81 x 183 cm) and has a weight restriction of 220 pounds (100 kg). The clearance from the upper berth to the ceiling is 35 inches (89 cm). The upper berth is fitted with safety rails and a ladder when it is made up by your stateroom host.

how high is the stateroom ceiling?....
it doesn't look that high.....
i wonder what the doorframe clearance is....
bear in mind that my husband smacks his head into standard height doorframes on dry land....

I'm 6' 2" (188 cm), and had no problem with the ceilings in a Category 6 stateroom.

well Dave, my husband is 6' 7" tall (exactly 2 meters which is a shade below 6' 7")...
and he has trouble clearing just about everything...
being only 5' 4" tall i tend to forget about things like that...

(i once found my dream house...was already to sign on the dotted line, when hubby took a stroll through and nearly was decapitated.....the family selling were exceptionally short, so when the marble floor they put in raised the normal floor height by 2 inches, they didn't need to change the doorframes.....hubby had to been completely bend over to get through them......i doubled over laughing.....and of course, didn't get to buy my dream house...)

by the way, my 14 year old son is only 190 cm, so the doors shouldn't be a problem....just the pull down bunk.....we could cut off his legs......or his head.....or make him sleep in the fetal position....

or get them a separate room....which is what i'll do if they decide to go despite the smoke...
