Do adults participate in Fish Extenders?

I've never participated in Fish Extenders. I was never interested, but now I'm thinking it might be something fun to do, depending on how big of a commitment it is. I probably won't want anything. When I get gifts onboard from dvc, for example, I leave almost everything behind (stickers, buttons, even medals from a competition onboard). I'm thinking it might be fun to drop off stuff in other people's extenders, though - sort of like a reverse scavenger hunt.

Do those who participate have to leave a gift every day and is it for everyone in the group and is it per stateroom or per person in the stateroom?

Since I'm not traveling with children, should I just stay out of it?

Would it be ok to not join a group, but just spend a day walking around the ship and leaving a random gift for people who have an extender out?

Are there other things to do similar to fish extenders, where you kind of just walk around the ship and pixie dust people?

Often FB groups will have an adult only Fish Extender group if you want to exchange gifts.

It is normally a single gift drop (one day) per cruise per cabin- Some people do gifts for each adult in the cabin, sometimes they do a cabin gift. I do a mix of both with normally something for the cabin and something for each adult. How many cabins you are assigned depends on your FB group and how it is set up. I'm a big fan of 5-6 Cabin groups where you gift to 4-5 other cabins but some do 10 cabin exchanges (too much for us).

You can 100% just pixie dust adult gifts to FE. I mean adults are bringing the kids so every room should have an adult tied to each stateroom.

Basically it's the adults that do most of the work on FE's. Yes, they can include the children in the process, but it's the adults that decide on what to gift.

These items would be considered Pixie Dust VS a FE Gift Exchange Gift by many. Randomly placing them in FE's you see is a nice way to spread magic. As for the medals for trivia, I would offer these to the second place team at time of winning (especially if there is a tie breaker) as they will likely appreciate them more.

My responses in red.

How many & how often is handled by the FE group. It can vary. I like the FE groups that leave it up to the giver to answer those questions.

No. We've only, always, cruised as an adult couple and have participated several times.

Certainly! That's called "pixie dusting".

I've given glow sticks/glow necklaces to the kids onboard, just walking about (always clear it with their parents, though).
