Do a lot of people give their kids bubbles

That is why those special snowflakes should be walking! Any child old enough to be doing that on purpose is old enough to be walking. To bad you didn't have a drink in your hand that the snowflake could have been wearing, you know from the "surprise" of getting soap in your eyes-except it would have been well aimed ;)

I have only seen them in line a couple of times thank goodness. I would say something if the child was blowing them on me. (if they are screaming you should do the courteous thing and leave the line)

Bubble allergies? :rotfl2: It's SOAP. What do you people with bubble allergies wash with? or don't you? :rolleyes1

You don't like soap on your skin? Bubbles are made out of soap.

not all soaps are made of the same ingredients...so yes, certain soaps i don't like on my skin as it becomes irritated. also, i had a friend actually get a horrible infection from using a certain brand of hand soap and they ended up in the hospital cause the infection caused a red streak to go up their arm...while i admit, soap allergies are indeed rare, they are real.

I'm guessing you have never been in the soap isle of any discount store, the soap industry makes MILLIONS off of senitive and allergic people (self included). If people didn't need or want options for sensitive skin there wouldn't be 15 options in every soap isle. I would love to spend 97cents a bar on cheap soap, but unfortunately due to my skin sensitivity that is not an option. Laugh away, I just hope you never develop allergies, they aren't fun, and having people mock you for something beyond your control is even less fun.

... some bubble solutions will stain clothes, and can cause skin or eye irratation. I think its rude to let your kids do something that imposes on other space and experience, but I think lots of stuff people let ther kids do is rude is rude and parents don't consult me before they let Junior run wild.

:thumbsup2

What I want to know when I read these "entertaining kids in line" themed threads is - why are you waiting in line for 45 minutes in the first place? We been a ton of times and rarely wait more than 10-15 minutes for anything with the exception of lining up for parades or fireworks, and a few shows like Fantasmic.

Waiting in line for 45 minutes for a ride is entirely unnecessary. Do some research, have a plan and waits are not part of the picture at all (and I have been over crazy Christmas/New Year's time and still never waited more than 15 minutes for anything).

My kids are all older, but if a little one is blowing bubbles, I'm fine with it. I also have no problem with strollers, ECVs, balloons, wands, Itzakadoozies (those crazy popsicles) or anythng else that might somehow encroach on my personal space while in WDW. Personal space is not always possible in an amusement resort. In an environment like Disney, you occasionally have to check your personal space issues at the turnstiles. ;)

As for the post about preferring line bubbles to a tantrum...I interpret that to mean if they are in line, and the 3 yr. old acts up, bubbles are used as an on-the-spot pacifier. Not as a way to drag the child through an unreasonable day of tantrums, whipping out bubbles as a full day fix. Tiredness is only one of a myriad of reasons for tantrums in young children. Just my 2 cents.

So people are now waiting for the Teacups, in the raw, showering in a bottle of mr. bubbles? :lmao: Absurd.

There have been people who have posted on similar threads they or their child have allergies to certain bubble solutions, and bubbles popping on them results in broken out skin. Just because you haven't experienced something doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

I don't have bubble allergies but I wanted to ask you how you would feel if a bubble popped in your eye. It's soap as you said and soap in your eye stings. It happened to me at disney. Would you just :rotfl2: if went in your eye?

That would be rather thoughtless to do. There are plenty of ways to distract/entertain kids without blowing bubbles in a crowded line onto other people.

Was going to say almost the exact same thing. Thankfully, I have never seen this. Plenty of people have allergy issues. Plus, why should I have to get soapy residue on my skin so your kid can amuse himself? There are non-invasive ways to amuse kids. What a dopey idea.

I think that no matter what a parent does to entertain their child someone will complain about it.

More seats for the non bubble allergy crowd in Mickey's Philharmagic then. :rotfl2:

I think The Great Movie Ride has bubbles too...in the beginning with the chorus ladies.

I'd cry like a little baby - similiar to what some here are doing.

Then I'd laugh.

You do know there are lots of different kinds of soap, right? I don't have particularly sensitive skin and I can use most soaps with no problem, but there are a couple of brands I can't use. So . . . I don't use them. I choose other brands instead. I'm not sensitve to bubble solutions, but I assume that people who are sensitive to them probably don't use those to clean themselves, and choose some other soap instead. :rotfl: There are lots of choices when it comes to soap, and there are even lots of different bubble solutions. But when someone uses them near you in line and the bubbles drift over and pop on you, they are taking away your choice in the matter.

And of course many soaps will irritate your skin if you just leave them on there even if you aren't allergic, which is why most people rinse the soap off in the shower. It's hard to rinse off in line, so by the time you've worked your way all the way through the line and ridden the ride and then can make your way to a restroom or water fountain, the bubble residue might have become quite irritating.

I think that no matter what a parent does to entertain their child someone will complain about it.

Why in the world would someone complain about you giving your child stickers in line, or letting them look at a book? Bubbles affect others; there are plenty of other things that don't.

I'm forever blowing bubbles.

You're playing devil's advocate, and that's fine, but laughing at other people's allergies is not. If you had a sever peanut allergy, would it be :rotfl2: if I rubbed peanut butter on your arm in line? Just saying.
