Do a lot of people give their kids bubbles

To the pp who mentioned stickers/books : The child could start putting stickers on places they shouldn't be and if the parent/child reads a book outloud I'm sure someone would be offended. You KNOW someone will complain!

Hopefully the parents would watch their kids and not allow them to put the stickers somewhere they shouldn't. Fortunately, the stickers can't wander around on their own like the bubbles can. :)

3 is too young for disney world

:rotfl: This must be a joke. Maybe YOUR 3 year old is too young for Disney World ~ but MY snowflake...eh, 3 year old has been DYING to ride ToT and Soarin' for about 18 months now.

I really hope you are joking.

As long as we are complaining about people doing things in line-how about not spraying sunscreen in line?

we don't go at busy times of the year, and rarely wait in line for more than 10-15 minutes tops but have only seen bubbles in line a couple of times in about 10 trips-I think most people realize that bubbles are not a good idea in tight spaces. You could always ask them to stop...you may be allergic to the soap if it feels odd on your skin. I know there are a lot of kinds of soap which wreak havoc on my skin...my doctor said it's probably allergies to soap ingredients. When my kids were little & we'd do bubbles, my skin always were red by the time we finished up.

Usually when we see the bubbles going is when people are waiting for shows or parades (like Fantasmic or MSEP)...when they're sitting in one spot for 45 min or more.

What I hate is when you're walking along & some goony kid has a bubble gun and gives you a face-full. Had my sunglasses off at just the wrong time one trip & got that danged soap in my eye...my eye watered for a good 30 min. Wish parents would pay more attention to what Jr. Monster is doing in the stroller (this particular Special Snowflake was deliberately aiming at people...only aimed & shot when people were within striking distance of his stroller .)

"Special Snowflake"?!?!?!?!?!?!? :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Naughty Disney. This needs to be added to the Disboard petition to remove bubbles.

Ugh, I'd definitely sign that one!!:thumbsup2 I have to say that nothing much bothers me at WDW. I don't really care about line cutters, I don't mind the Brazilian tour groups, never encountered a rude CM, love watching the little ones run around, but those two kids with the bubble gun during our last trip-ugh, my love of children went right down the toilet!:guilty: There is a big difference between a kid blowing a few bubbles from a bubble wand and a steady stream of bubbles popping in your face.

For the record though, after giving the parents several dirty looks and they still did not get the hint, I finally asked them to please intervene with their kids (these kids, BTW, were not just shooting the bubble gun everywhere, they were also hitting me in the leg with their pirate swords and princess wands, stepping all over me, yelling, etc-completely obnoxious kids & I hate saying that about any child). Anyways, the dad pretended he didn't hear me & the mom snapped at me and said, "What would you like me to do? I can't make them stop" UMMMMM, REALLY????? :sad2:

My other qualm is, they get rid of Musket Mickey because of the gun, but they sell bubble guns to shoot all over the park?? I'll take Musket Mickey over those stupid bubble guns any day!!

Or take the stick up his *** out and stick it in his nostrils to block the smell:rotfl2:

Wow, this is how new members are treated around here? I know what might help you to gain a sense of humor. A nice giant bottle of bubbles with one of those gigantic sticks. :flower3:

Why? I can't imagine the need to sunscreen standing in line considering MOST are inside or at least covered. :confused3

We must be mean boring parents. We make our children stand there quietly while they wait their turn and if they are not quietly waiting ~ we leave.

As far as stickers.... well my DD is allergic to the glue on certain stickers :sad1: She is so lucky. They are fine as long as they are not on her skin.

Pretty sure there are people allergic to something. My boss is allergic to perfumes and pretty much anything "strongly' scented. There are people allergic to water, certain soaps, certain foods, sunscreen ~ you name it SOMEONE is allergic to it. We carry an epipen in case DD gets exposed to something and benadryl tabs for the other DD who is allergic to bug bites.

If someone is allergic to anything they need to be prepared to deal with it while in public. Not everything can be controlled.

As I said earlier i think the bubble "slick" is dangerous and is actually mostly caused by CM's. I think it should be stopped. but jmHO.

Nah ~ it has nothing to do with being new.

Come to think of it, a kid blowing bubbles in line near us might be fun. My family could entertain themselves by popping the bubbles as fast as the kid could blow them. We could compete against eachother. The kid might not like it, but once the bubbles are in the air, they're fair game right?

Disney sells light up swords too, but I wouldn't want to be in line with a kid who was jabbing and slashing it all around. Even if they were doing it so they wouldn't cry or whine in line.

There is an appropriate time and place for everything. But many of those things are not appropriate when you are standing 6 inches away from another person. Use your bubbles when other people are not forced to be by you, and can leave if they are bothered by them. Geeze, show some consideration for those around you.

you are 6 inches from someone almost all the time at wdw...do you think wdw sells them to take home? no of course not.maybe the people near us could show some consideration for us and take care of that B.O.! or MAYBE wait to put down and yell at their poor husband for buying them a sm coke when you wanted a large one (and fries) until you get back to the room cause I dont want to hear it...it makes my ears hurt COME ON there are sooo many pool hopping, mug refilling you should be watching instead of getting mad at little ones for HAVING FUN at wdw! why bother going on vacation to wdw if you are going to always find something to complain about? It does not sound like your having enough fun.

We were waiting in the crowd for rope drop at Magic Kingdom and a little kid threw up his Mickey waffles all over the back of my brother's leg...and it didn't dampen his day one bit. And lucky for him I always carry "Wet Ones" pocket packs in my stylin' Mickey mini backpack. :thumbsup2

Again, you need to check your personal space at the turnstiles while in Disney. And carry some pocket wipes, then you can wipe off the bubble juice.

A screaming, tired, impatient child needs a nap, not bubbles.

:thumbsup2

I say let the bubbles fly! I mean, come on, it's a child and they're having a little fun while killing some time! I think it's annoying when an adult or teen whips out their phone or game system and starts beeping and bonging but I can deal. What do you people do when it starts "snowing" during the Osborne Lights? Do you freak out and put on your ponchos? I know the "snow" is not quite the same stuff but it comes out of nowhere and can strike you at any moment. Sinister stuff! Get a grip people - if a few bubbles can set you off then perhaps YOU are the one who needs a nap. :sad2:

I thinkt hat folks are trying to say that there may be better ways to entertain children. The lines are often pretty darn snug and that is probably not the best environment for a bubble blowing kid. Now I don't mind bubbles, have often bought them for children and enjoy watching kids play with them. It would never occur to me to take them into a line in order to keep little Johnny from screaming. Little Johnny is either behaving in the line or we are traipsing back to our resort for a rest.

Somewhere along the line I wonder if some parents have forgotten that ther are others in the area and that teaching common courtesy is a much appreciated gift to give their children. Perhaps the bubbles will occupy the child for a period of time but is it okay if the people arround that child are disturbed? Let's just let the allergies go. Bubble flying around in confined spaces can be annoying and just because you can does nto mean that you should.

I think that no matter what a parent does to entertain their child someone will complain about it.

There is a difference between entertaining children and entertaining them at the expense of the neighbors.

8 pages of comments on bubbles. It's like Christmas! I looooove bubbles and like bringing the little party sized ones in our backpack to blow while waiting.

Is there a maximum number of times the word "blow" can be said in a thread? If so, we're just about there.

:thumbsup2

Very, very well said. And in a sweet manner too.:goodvibes

I've never seen children in line playing with bubbles in 33 years of WDW and Disneyland trips. So I don't think it's a huge problem:confused3

I wouldn't be thrilled however to find little Susie and Johnny blowing bubbles into the crowd where I was and would anticipate that the parentals would monitor. If it's truly harmful (as opposed to mildly annoying) and a polite request to keep them away from me was ignored, I'd ask a CM to intercede. But again, I don't see this as a gigantic issue.:wizard:
