My oldest niece decided she wanted her birthday party at CHUCKY CHEESE. Her friends think its cool. I personally like playing the games, but I did't think a soon to be 16 yo would like to go there. I guess I just don't know what teenagers like.

I think it's cute - means she's not taking herself too seriously IMO. Too many 16 year olds want big, fancy parties etc. Something like this is refreshing :)

Sounds fun to me. You should be happy she is enjoying her youth rather than rushing to grow up.

LOL....Well, it's kinda IN now to go back to your younger years and have tons of fun doing it. A friend of my mothers just turned 38 and she had a circus themed birthday party and I heard that it was great and everyone had a blast. It's nostalgic (sp?).

I had my 35th birthday party this year at the skating rink. Rented it out, invited entire families and we had a blast. Ppl that hadn't skated since teen years were out there having fun.

Plus it's a good way to burn off the cake, lol. (I hate cake on my butt) :rotfl:

Your neice sounds awesome.

A far better idea than what those selfish, self-centered, egotistical brats on MTV's "My Super Sweet 16" who spend millions on their stupid wedding-like events do! I'm sure that you're nieces parents are thrilled that she's not like those girls on MTV and wants something cute and fun and not outlandish and insanely expensive!!!

She is a good kid. She is on the crew team, makes good grades and is looking at colleges already. And I am so jealous, she is a size 1 and going to Italy for 10 days with her latin class this summer. Rotten kid.

And she already has her appointment at the DMV tomorrow (her birthday)

I've been to at least a couple of birthday parties at Chuck E Cheese for either my kids, or a friend's kid, that there were girls there having their sweet 16 party there.

I think it is great that a 16 year old still wants to have fun and be a kid.

I'll have to run this idea past my DD. She is turning 16 in April. Wonder what her reaction will be.

I think thats great! I know many "kids" her age that love video games and come on those obstacle course things are fun! In fact my family is going there tonight for my sons 9th birthday. You better bet Ill be crawling in the balls and playing lots of games...centepede here i come! :thumbsup2

My best friend had her 15 birthday at Mcdonalds and another close friend has his 25 birthday at Chuckie Cheese, the men had a great time playing games and the woman ate pizza and gossiped lol.

My son's 21st birthday party was at Chuckie Cheese. Everyone had a great time.

My little bro had his 15th bday at Chucky's back in the day...they all loved it

funny he was on the crew as well :confused3

All my friends turned 16 this past year and that is very different from what we all did for our sweet 16s. It sounds like fun, though! I know me and my friends would have a blast at Chuckie Cheese.

Sounds like fun! Back in the 80's I spent my 23rd birthday with about 10 friends at "Bulwinkles". I don't think they exist anymore. It was themed on the old cartoon and had pizza, chicken, a big game room, Bulwinkles animated characters that did the same type of show CEC does, some old Bulwinkle cartoons, and a large "dancing water" display (think Vegas Belagio). It was a great place and actually had good food - so much better than CEC's.

I don't know how many of them there were. Despite our love of it, it never took off. (I'm sorry, you just can't beat pizza, maybe a pitcher of beer, and singing along to "when the moon hits the sky like a big pizza pie" while watching a dancing water show!) I think the problem was that the adults knew the characters, not the kids.

A friend of mine had her 30th at a roller rink last year too! It was SO MUCH fun! But I'd forgotten how much of a workout it is. :teeth:
