Want to do a cheap, easy trip this Aug. Never done DME, but now seriously considering it. DD will be 2.5 on the trip and just wondering if after a 3 hr flight plus wait for DME will make us all nuts. Or is it worth the wait? We would stay at AKL.

Thanks!

Don't assume there will be any more of a wait with DME than there will be with a rental car or car service. They all take about the same amount of time, on average, from airplane exit to resort.

With DME you will probably have a wait for your bus to leave. With a car service you'll have a wait at baggage claim. With a car rental you'll have a wait at baggage claim and at the rental counter.

If you get a DME bus (as opposed to a "plain" bus, as can occasionally happen during busier times), you will be entertained by a Disney welcome video on the little screens that fold down from the ceiling.

We have done DME w/my DS at 19 mos, 2.5 yrs, & most recently w/1st DS 4.5 yrs & 2nd DS 12 mos old. It is very easy. We have never waited more than 5-10 min for a bus. They have a video about WDW that plays during the ride & I usually have a snack for them. It's nice to not have to worry about lugging all the suitcases as well.
