DME, SWA & Departure Day Question

I just called CRO to give them my flight info for ME for our trip at the end of August. The agent told me on the day of departure we can check our luggage at the hotel. I thought since SWA was non participating we couldn't do that? I am confused....

That is correct. SW is not a participating airline. You will need to bring your luggage on the bus and check it at the airport.

Thank you - that is what I thought. The weird thing is the agent kept insisting and even put me on hold to double check with guest relations. When he came back he said the only way I couldn't check the bags at the hotel is if we were flying Airtran. Huh? Weird....
