DME question

We are arriving later than usual this trip, and staying one night in the Contemporary before moving to FW. I've never taken DME at night and wonder if anyone can guess (and I know it's just a guess) how long we'll wait for a bus. We arrive this Monday, June 6th at about 815. I didn't care about the timing until I realized we might actually make the fireworks which are at 10pm that night, and we can actually watch them from the hotel deck.
What do you think our chances are? I've waited an hour for a bus to leave before, but this is our first June trip, so I'm hoping there are more buses than slower seasons?

Well that depends on how many people are on your bus and how many stops the bus makes because remember the bus doesn't just go to your resort. They group several resorts onto one bus.
Plus you have to factor in the fact that your plane arrives at 8:15 and depending on where you are seated on the plan it could take 15 minutes to get off, stop at the bathroom, ride the shuttle to be the main terminal, make your way to the ME desk and then wait to board a bus.

DME should get you to your resort within 60-90 minutes of you getting off of the plane if you use the luggage transfer service or have only carry-on bags, and provided you don't make lengthy stops in the airport. If you collect your own bags add at least 20 minutes to your travel time. Of course, there always are situations where it takes longer than 90 minutes.

There's a decent chance that you could see the fireworks (assuming your plane is on time, which isn't a great bet), but it probably would require running straight to the deck as soon as DME drops you off and skipping check in.

I'd say the odds are pretty poor for several reasons. the PPs have listed several. I want to bet (big time) that your plane will be late arriving (my philosopy is that the later in the day your flight is, the greater the liklihood of flight delays).

Even if everything is optimal-you are seated near the front of the plane, go straight to the ME desk without a bathroom stop, have no lineup and get right on the bus, and are one of the first stops, you might just barely make it.

The other consideration is baggage delivery. You are only staying one night at Contemporary, then changing resorts. It can take ME and the resort 3-4 hours to deliver your luggage (around midnight). If you don't want to wait up that late, and want your luggage before morning, you would have to pick up your own luggage at the caroussels and take it with you on the ME bus. That would totally blow any chance you have of seeing the fireworks.

We have stayed at CR 3 times and it has always been the last DME stop. They share with Poly, GF and WL (but not necessarily in that order).

Thanks for the thoughts - looks like I should not get my hopes up. We are carrying on enough clothing/swimsuits for the next day, so I am not claiming any bags that evening. We're going on a cruise after our FW stay, so we've got a ton of baggage. I don't want mess with it anymore than I absolutely have to.
We'll have a chance to see the fireworks on Weds evening!
