I have a reservation for my son and I at Pop Century from August 19th to 27th. Due to flight costs we're ging to be flying in on the 18th, rather than the 19th and will be likely staying offsite.

Obviously we won't be using Magical Express on our arrival, but would we be able to use Magical Express on the day we leave?

Not a problem using DME on only your departure. However, if you are staying offsite near the airport, you can always head back over there and use DME to take you on the 19th to POP.

You can use DME one way...either way. BUT...as noted already, if you can get back to MCO easily the next morning, I would still take DME. Yes, you would have to take your bags with you, for under bus storage, but it saves you a fair amount of money.
You don't need to be arriving via plane into MCO in order to use DME to get to your resort. Even if you stay offsite, as long as you can get back to MCO, you can still use DME.
But, maybe you aren't staying anywhere near MCO. I know a lot of people book a value resort for that first night if they get a really great airfare. Then they can still use DME and Disney will move their bags the next morning.
