DME Luggage Tag Question

I'm not 100% positive of what I did re MDE when booking for my upcoming trip but I do know that I did not include any flight info. I called yesterday morning to add my flight info to my reservation. Yesterday evening I received an MDE luggage tag in the mail. The resort designation is correct but there's no way Disney had my flight details when it was mailed out. Will this tag work for my bag? I'm assuming yes but thought I'd check with y'all.

Yup, it will work. When you check in at your home airport, you'll still get a regular luggage tag. The yellow luggage tag lets the MCO people know not to send your bag to baggage claim, and instead send it onto WDW, and where within WDW it goes.

The luggage tag doesn't include the flight information, only your resort reservation number. The luggage that you tag with the yellow luggage tag will be gathered at the airport from all of the different airlines and then distributed to the resort that you are staying at. From there it will be delivered to your room. So they really don't need flight information for luggage delivery. They will use it for the Magical Express, though, so they know what day you are arriving.

Thanks for a reassurance! I figured that was the case but at 3:00 AM I had visions of my bag taking the Disney Resorts Grand Tour while I spend the week washing undies in the sink.

Not to hijack, but I have question regarding DME luggage tags. I originally booked a room at Beach Club for my upcoming March trip so my yellow tag says Beach Club on it. I have since changed reservation to stay at the Contemporary. Do I need to call to get a new tag or is the 'Beach Club' tag still good since it is the same reservation number? Thanks!

You can cross out the words "Beach Club" and write in Contemporary on the yellow tags. Or you can call MDE and have them send you new tags. I've done both.

We did just that in August, on the advice of @AngiTN who has done it multiple times before. It is absolutely no problem. Just write legibly.

Morning! How far in advance did you get your ME booklet and how do you ensure you get the yellow luggage tags? We are 17 days out and haven't received anything yet. Thank you!

I leave on the 28th and my tags and MagicBand arrived on the 9th. I didn't pay my balance until exactly 30 days out though, don't know if that makes a difference or not.
