DME Late Arrival Procedure?

I have read several different comments regarding procedure when arriving late at night. Do we go straight to the ME welcoming station and then go get our luggage, or do we get our luggage and then go to the welcoming station? I've read that if we arrive after 11:00 p.m. we have to get our own luggage and cannot have them deliver it.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You do NOT have to get your own luggage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will likely not be delivered until early the next morning - the message light on your phone will be flashing, and you can call Bell Services in response.

However, if you do choose to bring your suitcases yourself, do not put the yellow DME tags on them (throw the tags away). Proceed to baggage claim first, then bring everything to the Welcome Center. The bus driver will stow your luggage under the bus - and remember to tip. If you let DME handle your luggage, Disney pays the tip.

Thanks for your reply. I guess my confusion stemmed from the fact that I read that the regular procedure changes if we arrive after 11 p.m. in which case we go to the welcome center first and then go get our luggage. We are traveling with children and felt that we didn't want to use the yellow tags because we're going to need to have our luggage before the next day. The book we got from Disney with our tags doesn't mention anything about late arrivals so maybe it isn't the issue I'm making it!

Wow good point! I didn't think of that. When I called and made my ME reservation I asked about getting our own luggage for the same reasons. They said you could and to do exactly as listed above. They didn't say not to use the tags. I wouldn't have thought of that! Thanks!

I just call DME about this late arrival issue and they said to follow the same procedure regardless of arrival time: if we do not want ME to transfer our luggage for us, do not use yellow tags, go to baggage carousel upon arrival and get luggage and then go to Disney Welcome Center. Either the information I read on another site is outdated or someone was misinformed! It's bad enough that our flight has been changed to such a late arrival, I really don't want to be wasting any more time once I get there by running around trying to figure out what I should or should not have done. Thanks for the input
