DME... how long to get luggage tags?

I am looking at a last minute, 4 day trip for DW and I leaving on Dec 17th. If I book soon, will I have enough time to get me DME tags? The trip would be 2 weeks from this Saturday.

I know I can sign up for the service and grab my bags at MCO and take them to the bus, but is there a chance I still get tags?

I can only tell you that we received our tags exactly 3 weeks before our recent trip. They arrived by express mail (DHL, I think). When you call to make reservations, I would specifically ask them. I'm sure this is not the first time this has come up!

I live in Monterrey, Mexico, and i received my tags today! via Federal Express.

And our departure date is December 25th.

Hi there...i just booked wdw yesterday for four days beginning december 14th. CM assused me that the DME tags would be mailed out within 7 business days. I wouldn't worry. Worst that could happen is that we have to grab our own bags and hoof them over to the bus.

As long as your trip is at least 10 days in the future DME will send out tags.

Also if you don't receive the tags when you get to the DME desk you will just give them your baggage claim numbers. They will go retrieve the luggage and send it to your resort.

This is correct. There was a problem with our reservations not being in their computer when I called 12 days out (since I hadn't received tags yet). I got them today -- 4 days until we leave. They say as long as you are in the 10 day window, you should be fine. Go for it!
