DME day after flight arrival

I have just booked a trip for November where I will be flying in late and using points my first night to stay at a hotel near the airport. I know I have seen people take DME to their resort the next morning and they are usually told to just give a random flight number for that morning to book DME. I'm just wondering do they keep track of these flights coming in? Only curious as to what would happen if I pick a random flight and it gets canceled or something and I wouldn't know.

I suppose it wouldn't really matter in the end as people do change flights, but being the first time I'm doing this I want to make sure I'm being thorough.

You don't need to give a flight number - just tell them when you want to be taken to your resort.

They only really ask for a flight arrival so that they can plan things out and get a rough idea as to what they will need for buses. I'm sure after all these years they have a good idea of what they will need and when but if you have a big group coming in staying at one resort they could always plan for an extra bus or two around that time.

The trip home is the the important one to get right as you don't want to miss your flight.

Awesome, thanks! I know I'd always been asked for a number so I assumed they needed that for a reason. Glad to know it won't matter. And there are only 2 of us so not like we are taking that much room. 43 days to go! I guess I need to update my countdown.

It doesn't matter how many there are - if you're staying onsite, you're entitled to use DME.
