Has anyone found that by using DME there was no room ready possibility. I just happened to think of it when my DME envelope arrived today. I am hoping that we have some options but wonder if with DME rooms are definitely preassigned so they can connect the luggage with the room prior to picking it up or if that is done after they get to the resort

When we used ME in Jan., they said the computer "assigns" you a room that matches your requests when you check in to ME at MCO. Our CM was wonderful--the room was not yet ready, so he showed us where it was on the map. He then showed us several rooms that were ready at the time (it was 9:30 a.m.) and gave us a choice. We took the ready room. I don't know if he was able to be so accommodating because it was the end of Jan.

thanks - now I have another question - since the room was assigned at DME did you also get the room keys or did you still need to go to the lobby at the resort. We also have the dining plan and I want to be able to use it for lunch that day if possible so will need to pay for it and get the room keys. Am glad that there will be some possibility of getting a choice of the one assigned or one that may be ready early- won't count on it but at least have some hope it will work that way.

The DME desk does not have the ability to issue room keys (and I'm not sure the room is really assigned there either). You will still need to check-in at the resort and provide photo ID and credit card if you want charging privileges.

My understanding is that the DME computer merely confirms for the resort that you have arrived at MCO and are enroute to the resort- the resort itself can then pre-assign or offer room ready based on the knowledge that you are physically on the way at that time.

Okay that makes sense - it could really slow down ME if they were doing a check in process too. Thanks for the info- Got the ME luggage tags and one of them is wrong because the person is coming down 5 days later than the tag says so will be on the phone Monday am to try to straighten it out. Is there a direct number to ME so I don't have to call MS and tie up that line? Maybe I can call over the weekend if there is.

Thanks again.
