I see in the above sticky that airtran was piloting as a participating airline effective 12/19 at some resorts....

Is this continuing? We're flying Airtran, using DME and staying at the CR in April, would love to be able to check the bags at the resort and just hit security at MCO....

Thanks!:wizard:

Bumping , I want to know too if airtran is a participating airline now?

Also interested in the response to this question....that would be SO COOL!

Just returned from POP this past Monday. OUr flights were on Airtran...we could not check in @ the resort

I believe the "sticky" thread about DME said that only selected resorts were doing the AirTran trial -- seems it was Deluxes & CSR.

AirTran is "part of DME." You can use Disney's Magical Express transportation and inbound luggage service with all airlines that fly into Orlando International Airport.

AirTran is not currently a full-fledged participant in the separate, optional Resort Airline Check-in service. I don't know the status of the limited testing.

Call Disney's Magical Express Guest Services at 866-599-0951 for more information about the status of AirTran.

When returning to the airport...

If airtran is still piloting DME at the CR, I can check in, get boarding passes and check my luggage at the resort. DME would pick us (and our carry-on) up around 8:30 am for the return to the airport.:goodvibes

The risk with using this service with airtran is that I would not be able to select seats 24hrs in advance, having to wait until the morning of our flight for RAC.

So my options would be...

To check-in 24 hrs in advance for boarding passes and check our luggage at the airport.....

OR

Use the full RAC and risk not having seats next to each other on the plane.

We've never flow airtran before and because it is Easter week, I may go with option 1, just to make sure we're atleast 2 and 2 on the plane. I really don't want the kids having to sit solo on the flight.

We are flying home on Airtran also, no assigned seats.

Did you confirm that you cannot simply show your previously printed boarding passes and have RAC check the luggage?

Once a guest is checked in online, the RAC desk cannot check luggage.

Does anyone know if it possible to select seats with AirTran at the 24hr mark, without actually checking in for the flight?

I just booked my Air Tran flights an hour ago and came on here and saw this post. Do I go to the lobby to use a computer to check in and get my boarding passes? I've flown Air Tran numerous times to my mom's in Florida so I always use her computer. :surfweb:
I'm new to going directly to the resort from the airport. Any advice is welcome!
