Just curious if anyone has a ballpark when points go on sale for existing members? I believe both are supposed to be opening late 2023 for DLT and late 2024 Poly 2.0.

Sooo, springtime/tax refund season 2023 for DLT and same for Poly 2.0, or later if construction runs behind? I only started following DVC during Riviera announcement/opening and had the GFV surprise BPK room flip during our tenure.

Any insight based on past precedent, or is everything post Covid/Chapek a shot in the dark?

Tagging on here ... I am waiting for DLT to go on sale. I am not a DVC member yet but believe that I would need to buy at least 150 points. If I buy a resale contract this month or next for AUL, for example, would that count toward the required 150 point minimum? I am thinking I would then buy 100 points only for DLT.

The 150 pt min is only if you are buying direct from Disney.

These policies have been a moving target. Who knows what they will do for DLT. I think there is a chance they will lower the 150 for DLT. But who knows?

Current policy is any existing owner can buy the smallest contract, that number is set by resort. For most resorts it's 50, maybe more or less.

So, if you owned any resale at all, you could buy direct 50ish points.

The 150 point minimum is the currently required number of points purchased directly from DVD to be eligible for Membership Extras. If you buy a resale of any size at any DVC resort first, you can then buy only 100 (maybe fewer, we don't know yet) points direct for DLT, but you won't be eligible for Membership Extras unless you buy a total of 150 direct points. If you don't own any DVC when you buy DLT, you'll be required to buy 150 points in a single contract.

I love Aulani and the resale prices, but I would caution about buying AUL resale points if you want to be able to use them at VDH. They haven’t announced anything officially, but most people assume that resale buyers will be restricted from using their points at VDH.

You could use AUL resale at VGC, but that is like winning the lottery unless you are a local with a lot of flexibility.

Thanks for the heads up, but I already assumed that I would not be able to use resale AUL for VDH. I am on the west coast so would easily be able to use them in Hawaii. I would also use them for WDW resorts. The VDH that I hope to purchase would be specifically for VDH stays.

I am a resale member. I bought a 25pt direct add on contract with no problem. I can even use those 25 points for any resort. The minimum add on regardless of your status is 25 if you pay for it. If you finance through Disney it’s 50.

RIV requires 50 for add ons, even for cash..
