Apologies if this is already posted elsewhere, but we're headed to Disneyland in a week and I can't find this information in my searches.

We're hoping to see the daytime and night parade at DL, as well as the daytime parade and World of Color at DCA. We'll have two adults (one in an ECV) and two kids (2yo and 8yo).

I'm wondering:
  • Is there an ECV area for each of these?
  • If so, exactly where, and how do we get permission to use it?
  • Can our family stay together?
  • Any other tips (like how far ahead to arrive)?
Thanks for any help on any of these!

We were in DL/CA in February. Most important thing I can say is to pickup a disability guest brochure when you enter park. Take a few minutes to look it over before you head to the first ride. At DL ECV users often enter thru the exit. The brochure explains which ones you just go to the exit of or if the regular line has been widened for ECVs. Cast members may give you a return times too as there is a limit to the number of disabled on a ride at one time. In CA, the regular lines are ECV friendly. They hold you at the loading point if there are already disabled persons on the ride. They let you board after those folks exit. Must be a California Earthquake law as I do not have that problem in Florida.

We did not do parades so I am no help there. We had fast pass for WOC but they had us in a handicapped viewing area near the top row. We lined up with fast pass persons and they showed the ECV and me to an area. I had only husband with but I would guess the four of you can stay together. We got there at the time on the fast pass and waited about 45 minutes for the show.

How to be admitted to the viewing area....Follow the brochures advice and when you think you are in the right spot, smile at the nearest cast member. I found the California cast to be quick to offer help to ECV folks.

I posted a mini trip review in late February or early March but I don't recall if it was in the Disneyland board or on the Disabled board. It had a few more tips.

Be sure to have fun.

I found some possibly-dated info on the DL parades...

"If you are traveling with a guest in a wheelchair, there are a few mobility disability parade-viewing areas. One is near the Disney Showcase near the entrance to the park. Another is across from It’s a Small World. There is one near Pixie Hollow, but the ground is not perfectly flat there, and we have heard from guests that it is not ideal. If you want to stay in place for both Paint the Night and Disneyland Forever Fireworks, the It’s a Small World location might be the best bet."

Hmm. A more recent post on the same site says:

"Guests using wheelchairs can watch the parade from any viewing location, but there are also some first-come, first served parade viewing areas for guests with disabilities. If you want a parade viewing location that is also good for watching fireworks, check with City Hall earlier in the day about reserving a wheelchair accessible space for fireworks because space is limited in that location."
